Does this mean we're going to get the Celtic loyalists coming over onto our board again telling us that they're players are too good for the Premier League and that the Scottish Premier League is a really good and entertaining League... He's ****. We can do much, much better.
I'd have Chris Commons here in a heartbeat. Scored 16 as a midfielder before Christmas for Derby. If there was a player like that in the Championship now you'd be all over him. Just because they play in a **** league doesn't make them **** players.
Anyone who's played higher than third tier football in England could get a game for Celtic. Absolutely shocking standard of football, someone remind me how many times they've got out of the group stage of the CL. I know he's gone on to be half decent bit they signed Hooper from Scunny. Big hitting is that. Ledley wouldn't get anywhere near our first team, in fact would any of the Celtic team?
This is our problem. If we are still thought of as possible relegation candidates we will find it difficult getting players much better than what we have got. Bruce and the team have done so well (less so referees!) that we may be able to get some good players in January but it won't be until summer that we can really improve the squad.
Would this be the same Alex Bruce who had Luis Suarez in his back pocket for the entire of the Liverpool game?
Boyd doesn't get much of a look in and Bruce has only started the last few games, in which he has been very, very good. Both of those would be nailed on starters for Leicester.
Alex Bruce gets unfair criticism, and so does Boyd really. I can admit, I had doubts about Alex when he first joined, but he's proven me and most people wrong (especially TWS fans) time after time. He only plays badly if stuck in that defensive midfield role, but in defence, I can't say he's ever let us down. Boyd gets played in so many different roles, that his performances differ all the time but overall, he always puts his heart and soul into the games. Boyd would get into your team any day of the week IMO.
Bruce never was a nailed on starter He only got the chance to make a mistake in the playoffs because we had a racist **** formerly of Hull
He was ****e at Citeh cos the footballing genius that is Stuart Pearce spent his entire transfer budget on him and then played him in a position he had never played before throughout his entire career (left wing).
Chris Commons is alright to be fair, there's worse players at Celtic. Alex Bruce really has been very good for us in defence. Soecially this season barring one small lapse of concentration against Arsenal. Happens to everyone even the best from time to time. I'm actually surprised just how good Alex has been this season against some properly good players. And it's not just fluke because he's kept doing it every time. Boyd would get in to pretty much any Championship side I reckon. He really is a classy player, great skill, very clever on the pitch just far too slow to really be effective at this level. Still looked alright though to be fair when he plays and not looked poor at all. Chris Woo however.... Eeyore
Mock us all you want , that's the eighth time we've played Barcelona in the last 8 years in europe , we knocked them out of the uefa cup , beaten them at home , drawn away with them in the champions league . Last night was a bad night , but at end of day people from Hull are never going to understand football coming from a Rugby town .look how you rolled over at getting your name changed to the tigers , can you imagine that happening in a real football place like Glasgow ???
SPL doesn't deserve a place in the CL, Celtic are by far the weakest side in it. It'd be far better for European football if they took the Scottish CL place and gave it to the English FA cup winners, would make the FA cup more interesting and competitive as well as the CL.
