The petition has jumped from 7,000 signatures, to 9,000 signatures this week, it's been signed by five people per minute today.
I think that's the best statement CTWD have released. The only thing to pick at there is the stating that no research has been conducted, unless you're in Dr. Allams private personal loop, you don't know and can't state it as fact.
Stuart Green ‏@StuGreen1981 I Can't Believe It's Not Gonna Be Hull City Anymore....... Gutted!!
Colin MurrayVerified ‏@ColinMurray I can't imagine ever calling Hull City by the name Hull Tigers on the radio or anywhere else. In fact, I won't.
Of course, all this time we've been forgetting the other personal thing. It's not just fans that have an affinity to the name, it's players as well, some of them met their other halves through City and now that is taken away from them. It's like LAs not being LAs any more for them.
I have noticed on the facebook link that people who have been sitting on the sidelines and just waiting to see how things developed have now signed the petition as the request has now become a reality.
The FA can confirm that it has received a request from Hull City to change its playing name to Hull Tigers from season 2014/15. Requests to change a playing name of a club are considered under FA Rule A3 (l) and require the prior written permission of the FA Council. As part of the evaluation of the request a consultation process will be undertaken with various stakeholders including supporter groups. At present The FA is not able to provide a timescale for the completion of the consultation process and does not expect to make any further comment until the assessment of the request has been completed. http://www.thefa.com//news/governance/2013/dec/fa-council-to-rule-on-name-change
Just sent this email to the FA: Can you please tell me whether Hull City AFC are allowed to use âHull City Tigersâ as their name on their website before getting approval from yourselves? http://www.hullcitytigers.com/
The brilliant thing about the facebook page is that once 2000 people join a group, you cannot change the group's name. Hence why it is still rightly Hull City A.F.C.
So rather than waiting, and giving some of you some hope, due to the actions of some CI muppets, his hand has been forced. lol
