Not really, you guys beat United last season and Liverpool beat them the season before(I think). We're playing Arsenal in the FA Cup, I'm looking forward to it. Just accept that at least
"It doesn't seem as if AVB has dismissed the Capitol One Cup so lightly. Only last week, in a desperate attempt at clutching straws, he said " we are on he verge of a semi final place". I agree the COC is "MIckey Mouse" but success in the competition could keep AVB in a job." To be in the League Cup final means Spurs will have played 6 matches against PL teams. So effectively a PL season of 44 games. Stick the FA Cup on and that makes it 45 (at least) . Very interesting January ahead. AVB needs to get momentum going now in December.
Surely both teams will play a full strength side as if they don't then this just confirms the FA Cup is nothing more then the League cup but with a glorious history. Sad times that we don't see the cup magic any more.
With Arsenal playing against Cardiff in the fixture preceeding this one i can see Arsenal putting out a full strength or near full strength team for the fixture.
Yes, surely both team will be at full strength. Arsenal will not want to slip up against us and AVB will undoubtedly be still under pressure so will have no choice but to pick his strongest side.
Birthdays and NLD's don't mix. Mine is the 26th February. A couple of years back we were 2:1 up after 40 minutes, they equalised just before half time and went on to win 5:2. Worst birthday present ever.
Really do hope we get a 9,000 allocation for this. The Emirates is still one of the very few grounds I've yet to go as all the season ticket holders get priority despite the fact I probably go to more games overall than them ****ers anyway, so if we get a high allocation, good chance I might be able to get a ticket. 9,000 yids in the Emirates will be electric.
If I had a sister in law who was an Arsenal supporter I would have to disown her....and send my brother to see a nut doctor!!!!
When Spurs won the F.A.Cup in 1982, you beat Arsenal in the 3rd round. For those of you still relying on omens and superstition, this could be useful info.
"For those of you still relying on omens and superstition, this could be useful info." Oh I like that !!! <spirit of 1982>
...and Pat Jennings (of Arsenal!) messed up and gave us the goal in '82. We were founded in'82 and sometimes I feel I was born then too. It's the Arthursitis!!!!!!
While I think Arsenal will have no choice but to play a strong squad, somewhere in the back of my mind I'd be thinking that one of the bigger obstacles to the PL title is a long cup run. I like the idea that they'll be desperate to beat their rival and yet at the same time kind of hoping to be done with a Cup competition. Cognitive dissonance.
If Spurs were in Arsenal's position I would say "go for the double"!As we are not,I would recommend Arsenal forget the Cup and play all their reserves!
