Pretty sure UEFA changed the rule after we were left out. It's one of the reasons I think we'll win the Europa League this year. Sod's law dictates not only that we'll be the only team to have a qualification place taken away from us but we'll also be the last team to win the Europa League and not qualify for the CL. United could in theory do it to you next season if they win the Europa League and you finish 4th though.
i thought they changed it after we won in 05 and didn't get top 4 to qualify again,might be a dif thing they changed though, not sure.
It did but it's been changed back again. It appears I was wrong though as it doesn't come into play until next season so United could do it to you this season. For a good while weren't you lot in contention for the title even under harry that year? Wasn't it a lot of slip ups at the end that dropped you that far?
I think we were well out of the running by the end of February but yeah, getting 1 win in 9 games really undid all of the good work we put in at the start of the season Still it wasn't quite as impressive as our 1 in 10 games at virtually the same stage the previous year Although at least that year we had an exciting CL run... which ended with a similar level of incompetence I'm hoping it happens to Arsenal this year
