I never said it wasn't comparable.

Of course it's comparable, only a much more drastic version!

EDIT: ****ing internet warrior <doh>

Don't often respond to the forums but I am an avid follower.
What fears me is that Allam is ruthless and very astute he knows full well that like any spoilt narcissist if he stands his ground for long enough eventually he will get his own way. I like so many loyal Hull City AFC supporters will not stop going to the games this of course means paying for each game, as a business man not football man this is all Allam cares about revenue coming in and of course it will.
He holds the gun to our heads even if he throws his dummy out refuses to put any more finances in, decline any further expenditures i.e transfers until he gets his money back we will still attend matches to support our Home Football Club even in protest and so the money keeps rolling back to him.
I am sure he ignores his advisors as his PR with the City Fans is disgraceful and his marketing strategy has no foundation it is fact that none of the money clubs changes there name no had too to increase revenue on a global scale can he not see this?
Success even historically being in the Premiership brings with it international coverage and brand advertisement thus increases revenue.
It really worries me that as the protest to keep the name rumbles on (and rightly so) the insults from Allam will get worse or he will show total disrespect continuing with his its my ball I'll do what the hell I like and to hell with who he upsets or the ramifications should he throw his toy our club in the skip

Those of you comparing your situation to Dons need to get a grip.

Its comparable when your ground is moved to Chesterfield, the team colours, mascot and badge are changed.

Dons have a reason to be bitter after 10 or so years (they made a big deal about it when they met in the cup last year), the FA (or whoever) sold their team to another city.

You are Hull, you will still be Hull, in Hull, with the same squad, the same manager (i cant promise this actually, you know what footballs like), wearing black and orange.

Amber you colour blind bastard. Tigers are amber and black, not black and orange.

Other than that I agree, some of us keep reminding a few chaps of that, but they just ignore it and carry on as though changing the name is setting up a whole new club that's nowt to do with ours.

MK Dons established 10 years.

Hull Tigers just about to be born.

Who has the most heritage?

MK Dons! By 10 years! That's my point. Jesus.

Hull Tigers is NOT Hull City. It's a bastard.

It is an embarrassment. A sham. A fraud.

I think this name change will be reversed by whoever the next owners are so it's just something we will might have to suffer for a few years if the FA don't help us out. A lot of commentators are saying they will refer to us as Hull City regardless of what happens. MartinofHull puts it all very well in his comment above, it's nice to see a few new people contributing on this site.

That one leaves out the association bit doesn't it and anyway the FC bit is only in there because it makes the words scan.

He knows about generators. He knows very little of football.

Put it this way. If he went into making movies do you think he'd be a successful producer/moneyman?

People can do well with businesses they understand.

How smart was it at the last minute to insist on paying for Long in installments?

You could argue the only reason the words aren't in the other songs is because it would stop the words scanning, if I were being argumentative.

Footballers make a lot of money and should know the industry, but are their many who could run a football club?

Another load of bilge. Meetings with PL, approaches to the FA and other fans organisations! How dare they! This shows them to be a bunch of reactionary thugs, obviously. I mean, just imagine making representations to the bodies in charge of the game.
As for a banner with STANDING on it, how is that a challenge to the club or disparaging to Allam?

With your roll over and die and doff your cap to the gaffer attitude we wouldn't be getting to many away matches as we would still be working on Saturdays, with kids up chimneys and no holidays.

Did the forum mods allow this post from you, amongst others, because it fitted their agenda?

"THey need to go, get rid of the cancer asap even if it means struggling next year"

Do you only get a conscience regarding posts when it fits your agenda?

Do you think the mods should only act when it suits your agenda?

Can "they" only be a "cancer" in the championship?

Are you the biggest hypocritical **** in the history of the world?

Please be assured sticking me on ignore does not mean others will get to ignore your double standards, lack of values & non existent principles.

You lousy, irrelevant Premier League whore ****.

And it's Hull Tigers
Hull Tigers
We're by far the greatest team
The world has ever seen.

Doesn't exactly run off the tongue, does it?

We are the Tigers
The Tigers

Instead of We are the City
The City FC

doesn't either.

At least spelling out the name and saying what we have got it is the Tigers will finally be correct instead of giving the impression we can't spell.

CTWD - Press release...

The City Till We Die campaign group is disappointed to learn that Hull City AFC has formally written to the Football Association requesting to change the name of our club to Hull Tigers, as of the 2014-2015 season. When City Till We Die met with Hull City AFC owner Dr Assem Allam on 1 November, he assured us that any name change would not occur for two to three years, and that it would not go ahead without supporter consultation, or without the benefits being proven by research. No such research or consultation has taken place.

Commentators on the sport and experts in marketing alike have reacted to Dr Allam’s name-change plans with widespread derision, while his intemperate remarks about Hull City supporters have been roundly condemned. Single-mindedness is not the only way to win respect; listening to the counsel of others and being prepared to concede that you may have made a mistake can also be a sign of strength. Sadly, the events of recent weeks suggest that our owner may not appreciate this.

This matter is now in the hands of the only people who have the right to make such a decision: the football authorities. On 2 December, City Till We Die supplied the FA with a timeline dossier on the name-change proposals, for their consideration. On 4 December we met with officials of the Premier League, who told us that any such material changes to the heritage of British football should be carried out in consultation with supporters and wider stakeholders in the game. They also assured us that they would approach the FA to discuss how these important matters can be protected within the framework of their respective rules.

The FA is an organisation with a rich and proud history; this year, it is celebrating its 150th anniversary. This Saturday, as part of those celebrations, numerous FA dignitaries will be at the KC Stadium to honour Hull-born Ebenezer Cobb Morley, one of the founding fathers of Association Football. We remain confident that, with the eyes of the whole footballing world upon them, the FA will make the right decision, and act to protect not only the heritage and traditions of Hull City AFC, but also those of other clubs whose identities may come under threat in the future. This issue matters for all football supporters, not just the people of Hull, and the decision the FA makes will set a very important precedent.

We urge Hull City AFC supporters who wish to keep our historic name to continue the peaceful and dignified campaigning which has brought us messages of support from all around the world, to make their voices heard by the FA both this Saturday and over the coming weeks, and to sign our petition at citytillwedie.com/petition.

It's been in the public domain since immediately after the meeting, wording agreed with Ash Lord, it's never been disputed by anyone.
