I'm not normally one for hopes and dreams, but after the stressful week I've had I could do with something to cheer me up.
What is the ideal scenario you'd like to see this summer at Cardiff?
For me, Martin O'Neil would be announced as our new manager next week, whilst at the same press conference it is also announced that Bellamy has signed a multi year deal with us (regardless of cost, he really is THAT important to us this season). A few days later, reports emerge that Craig has been chatting to a few old friends, most notably Bothroyd. After the capture of Earnie on a free from the trees, Jay is persuaded to resign for us. Can you imagine the damage they would do in a 4-3-3 with Craig and Earnie buzzing round for all the flick ons and deft touches? AWESOME. More news to emerge suggests that because he is unhappy playing second fiddle at Man City and is also very good friends with Craig, Shay Given is considering a move here.
All we would need to do would be strengthen the LB position and sort out the midfield, and we've once again got a squad to get us "there or thereabouts" next season.
Maybe if O'Neill could spare some fairy dust and a few more sensible signings in January, and we could do it next year.
KTF!
