Rodgers will start with both Alberto and Aspas on the bench - because he has to! They are both vital on the bench for cover. I too would like to see both players given a chance but with our present injury position this is not the game to gamble.
shame we cant take a chance on Yesil, seen some good stuff from him in ressies. we know what we get from Sterling,Moses,Aspas, which isnt much, like to see Yesil or even Ibe given a run of games, like Foredekdave said though maybe isnt the type of game to gamble on, esp away from home.
Do better with what we have then Knobchops! The only other option is to go 4-4-2 and Spurs will murder us through the middle.
-----------------Migs----------------- -------Toure----Sakho----Agger------ Mclaughlin--------------------Johnson ----------------Lucas---------------- ---Alberto-----Coutinho-------Ibe---- ----------------Luis------------------ thats my ****ed up line up lol. could put Henderson or Allen instead of either Alberto or Ibe, but prefer not to, need to see them given a run of games to impress.
we will just have to do what Real used to do (think it was them) ****e defence or cover, but attitude of "if you score 3 we will just get 4" lol. it could work
aimed at me? if so, he can do no worst than what we get out of Sterling,Moses or Aspas in games, so deserves a fair chance to impress. even though he hasn't been great (Flanagan) he hasn't let anyone down, maybe some of our other youngsters could do the same. Ibe,Mclaughlin,Yesil, we have some talent, why not start using them see if they can step up, we expect(or most do) to struggle to get anything out the games we have coming up anyway, maybe its their time, never know if we dont give them a chance. we need something different, and although Sterling,Moses,Aspas etc maybe more experienced, they are also too predictable most of the time, and don't have enough skill from what i have seen to turn games or have much of an impact.
I agree that some of our youngsters should be used more, game like Norwich at home fringe players should have got more game time.
I agree that he is talented, but I've watched him for the U21's this season and I honestly don't think he's quite yet ready, maybe another season or a loan spell. Thought Sterling has had a couple of good games and the run of games could be just what he needs. We threw Sterling in to things too early last season and he's suffered since, wouldn't want the same to happen to Ibe.
When we bougt Agger some people said he is capable of playing in any of these:Centre back, Left back and mid-field.Have we ever tried him?.
Can you imagine the stick given to BR if he brought in some youngsters and we got trounced? We need to put out the strongest side we have available. If, in the manager's view, that includes one or two of the younger players then I'm sure he'd go for it, but we can't drop players who we (the fans) think are under-performing unless we can replace them with someone who we're certain would be an improvement. I'm pretty sure BR wants us to win as much as we do, and he picks the team he thinks will do the best job. Of course, we're never all going to agree with him about his selection. We don't even agree with each other.
Injuries really are hitting at the crunch time aren't they. I can see a December to forgot, followed by a January of promise. A good midfielder arriving in January, when there's a hole in the squad could really lift us.
