Your thread got overtaken by the Tobes vs Dave argument. If you want that one back then I can delete all argument posts and re-open it? Otherwise, just start another one PS...glad to see you're not joining in with the others and throwing a hissy fit
This was what I meant in my post about a thread being hijacked and turned into a personal battle. Thought it might be amusing in itself, it's unfair on the OP.
It is, but if we leave that thread open that the argument remains in there. If we close it then it spreads elsewhere. Of course, we could just delete the comments but that demands a lot of time and attention.
I agree. Perhaps a reminder to people that they're taking over someone else's thread and that if they want to continue they should take it outside? This doesn't matter too much in the daft OT threads, but a serious football-related one should be kept reasonably on course, imo. I know that the protagonists will say that they were shouting the odds over a thread about the odds, but from everyone else's point of view it had descended into a continuation of a long-running personal duel.
Why not? Its great fun. Every blames you for everything, you get regularly abusive threads about you and people take offence to any actions you take. And you do all this for free too, bargain!
