No its not enough if our premiership suffers, absolutely not..and some of us attend matches not commenting when they are not even at the games
So with Juventus going out of the Champions League, they are now in the Europa League - all the more reason for us to qualify. Would absolutely love to have them at the Liberty.
Try backing up your arguments instead of accusing others of not being at games when you can't possibly know that information.
I go to the games but they're all televised anyway so why are people's opinions of less value just because they weren't at the stadium? The ****e people spout.
yes it would be great but lets walk before we can run and be more organized that we can give europe a good go and not as we are letting the premiership go to pot... Terror i know they are not there just by the way they talk and looking at their comments during the match. and dont say they are using the phone as thats rubbish to post all through the game, the odd comment here and there and at half time yes....I know as i have tried and im good on the phone,
Valley, the text box is Glam's reply to me. If he does comment that it is me, I can tell you know I will break all the rules so I can see you banning me. That sort of comment pisses me off, thinking a fan of the Swans is more deserving going to games than ones not attending.
Absolutely Never. A fan is a fan is a fan. When there were 4/5000 at the Vetch in League 2 I was there most of the time, not all the time (I was there watching before I considered myself a fan!)....and I wished for us to a) get up and b) grow and realise our potential. When we got promoted and started League 1 I was ****ing chuffed we were playing in a brand spanking new stadium with a slightly bigger crowd....and our crowds have been growing steadily ever since. I believe the 'new' fans are in fact mostly old fans who would come when they could or had been regulars for a while and then stopped when they could no longer justify the expense (people grow up, have families....suddenly it's difficult to justify to the missus why you should continue to spend several hundred pounds a year on your hobby). As we played better and ultimately more successful football so the enthusiasm grew so that the maximum amount of people who had an interest and could afford it were moved to come back or go more regular. No doubt with Prem football came a few extra who probably didn't have a long standing interest....this is a good thing for our club. The kids around here are now almost guaranteed to grow up Swans fans ...but Dai, are you saying that their opinion on our performance is more valid than someone like 'Never' who was there in the dark days but has subsequently moved to England? Are you saying that someone who has little interest, but fancies watching Liverpool come to town, and pays a season ticket holder over the odds for use of the ticket has a more valid opinion than 'Mikraswan' or 'Danielswan' or 'Jokeren' or 'VikingJock' who have probably watched a lot of continental football and are keen enough students of the game that they bother to take an interest in and become supporters of Swansea City? Do spoilt Gower teenagers who were bought a season ticket on our promotion as a gift have a more valid opinion than 'Glamexile', 'BrisbaneJack', 'NorwayJack, 'Daimungeezer', 'CherryJack' etc. Fans that have been watching us all the way up. There are plenty of others who watched us a lot, for years, who can't get a ticket since the dawning of the Prem era. It's nonsense Dai. Whether you were at the game or not has no bearing on the validity of opinions. The only fans I would describe as 'Plastic' are fans of the biggest clubs who have never been to a game and don't plan to either...they are the armchair fans. Nearly everyone mentioned above have been to lots of games, when times were less glamorous....the likes of Mikra have come all the way from Denmark to see us for ****s sake! They all care, they are all fans and their opinions are just as valid as yours...in fact more valid, in my opinion, as their opinions are usually based on some kind of logic.
you can only gauge what its like at the stadium if you are there to feel the atmosphere and hear other fans views, you cannot appreciate that level sitting at home behind a computer screen, so dont talk daft man...its impossible...And i never said that fans who dont go dont have any views, but the views they have will never be close to the fan who is actually there. I think i have a bit more knowledge of that having attended matches over 54 years to know the difference..
Dai you have a point to a degree, and having already seen more games this season than last season at the liberty, and also watching our games at the Liberty and away on live TV, there is not a great deal of difference, and while you might not spot the poor atmosphere watching on the box, you will get a better vantage view from the camera's, so not a big issue in my view, though I'd prefer to be at the Liberty. The last few games I've been to the atmosphere was very poor, and I didn't go to the Hull game as I new we would be conserving energy for the trip to Switzerland, glad I didn't go, because what I saw on the box live was League 2, and Laudrup has to answer for why he failed to motivate the dressing room, though some of our players clearly have no pride either!................
Dai - I really don't know what you're thinking but I've been a ST holder for donkey's years. I think I bought my first in the late 80's. The only time I wasn't was when I lived overseas but I've been back a long long time. So I'm really not sure who your comment about not being at the Liberty was aimed at. Please don't tell me you're mixing me up with musty. I'll have to top myself. I also stand by my comment that even if a person is miles away and watching the game on TV their opinion about the team is as valid as anyone who was at the game. Why wouldn't it be? However, being at the ground you get a better feel for the atmoshere which I agree has been dreadful this season.
Getting back to matters in hand what happens if we lose and Kuban Krasnodar win and we both have 8 pts I had a look at the Eufa rules and its below. Does this read that as we were 1-1 in both games with Kuban that it would come down to overall goal difference? If so we +3 and they are 0 so assuming they beat Valencia but by no more than 1 we would need to (hopefully not) lose by only 1 goal else we are out as Kuban will have scored more goals than us. What the heck lets just go and win the bloody game If two or more teams are equal on points on completion of all the group matches, the following criteria are applied to determine the rankings (in descending order): a) higher number of points obtained in the group matches played among the teams in question; b) superior goal difference from the group matches played among the teams in question; c) higher number of goals scored in the group matches played among the teams in question; d) higher number of goals scored away from home in the group matches played among the teams in question; B]we would both be the same[/B] e) if, after having applied criteria a) to d), teams still have an equal ranking, criteria a) to d) are reapplied exclusively to the matches between the teams in question to determine their final rankings. If this procedure does not lead to a decision, criteria f) to h) apply; f) superior goal difference from all group matches played; g) higher number of goals scored from all group matches played; h) higher number of coefficient points accumulated by the club in question, as well as its association, over the previous five seasons (see paragraph 9.03). 7.06 The 12 group-winners and the 12 runners-up from the group stage qualify for the round of 32. T
Bloody hell you'd need a maths degree to work all that out. As you say, glam let's just win the bloody thing.
