Another example of his 'shoot-from-the-lip' thinking...... Dear ****ing Herr Doctator: engage brain before opening mouth!
I will buy a shirt if they remove cash convertors and do not replace the sponsor with a similar one. Things move on.A short while ago people on here were waxing lyrical about Yankee Burger being brilliant. Some then said they abhorred Americanisation of things! The next generation may get weighed in kilograms and tell you their height in centimetres.I will not be doing the same.I will still be fat and the words used will neither increase or decrease my chances of type 2 diabetes. I had a chat with a young bloke 2 seasons ago about the ****ty smokey toilets near e1.I said yeah it is amazing how we sat in smoke filled pubs for years. He simply said he had never been in a pub where anyone smoked. He was not a child -he liked pubs-times have moved on and the world did not stop. We will exist in one form or another whatever our name.I will support city til the day I die. I think Mel U has interesting ideas re the way the whole set up is organised.I am open to new ideas to improve the club.I just do not think the name change is a big deal.
What a farce, we should be enjoying our best team ever instead we have an owner making us a laughing stock and pissing on our traditions and even worse some fans think that's OK!! The 'bankrupt if he goes' argument is really getting on my tits now, you should support your team any division they are in regardless of finances, even in the minute chance that we did 'go bankrupt'!
Would it? You're all hypocrites if you think this. AA could have a brilliant plan yet everyone on here would still be against the name change. Because the argument switches between marketing strategy and emotional bond whenever it suits. Once again, this is not about marketing.
I know he doesn't!!! I'm just explaining that even if he did, in theory it wouldn't change many's stance on here because it is not about marketing but heritage.
No. If someone wants to change something where there is an emotional connection then they should be able to demonstrate a positive result in what ever field it is they believe there will be one. Allam has chosen to say it is a marketing decision, therefore that is where the benefit needs to be shown. The benefit to keeping it the same is that the existing customer base is happy. The benefit to changing it is...what?
The argument is both, as always. They both suit the whole time, because there's never been a valid argument against either. Don't you get bored of just posting the same inflammatory crap on every thread? You don't even seem to know what your position is, other than to take the piss out of everyone else.
So Allam insisted he wanted to run the club like a business. He gave his word in the meeting that he won't change the name without proof of increased revenue. If he goes back on his word in business like he has done in the name change then he won't have many people left to do business with. The guy is an utter **** and can **** off.
Well it was going to happen, I'm just happy his ego has got to him and he's rushed this application, with no real evidence of the consultation the PL requires. CITY TILL WE DIE
Well this doesn't surprise me as it has been proved time and again that he just spits his dummy out when anyone disagrees with him eg. fans (re name change) and the council (re selling the KC). I don't like the proposed name change but am not the type to create a stink about it as such, but am more the type to quietly vote with my feet. I will therefore still buy our 2 season cards as we always have done but will not be buying any merchandise with the new identity on it like shirts, programs etc. He obviously does not care what others think, all his previous comments like 'my gift to the city' and 'i will prove the financial case' are just empty words. I am very grateful that he put cash in, got Bruce in which got us promoted and of course it is his business and so he can change the name if he wants but it is my money i am spending and i can choose to support the club and team how i want and that now means buying a pass and giving vocal support but nothing more and therefore - honours even!
Can't really see why all the same arguments are being re-hashed. Personally I'm pleased with today's announcement. He was never going to u-turn on this issue so the only alternates to today's announcements were that Bruce had being sacked for trying to change his mind, or that Allam is putting the club up for sale including transfer listing our best players for a January fire-sale. Enter Ken Bates or Mandaric. The FA may turn his application down of course which ironically would allow him to save face.
