That's not the point! The name change hasn't even happened yet technically. Even if it's the entirety of fans, why would he not go through with it if there's no negative impact?

Until CTWD members back up their argument by not attending games and buying anything related to the club, then nothing will change.

You'd be surprised how many people we still come across who think Allam is successful, therefore he must know what he's doing and this nonsense will increase revenue.

We still need to debunk that assertion.

But Allam's saying it's about marketing, so having a marketing columnist in one of the biggest marketing magazines is a pretty big deal.

Yeh, I'm quite amazed at that. Despite my stance on the matter, the moment I saw his ridiculous interview where he basically let us all know he hadn't got a plan, it was clear to me this was just a public cover up and not the real reason for the name change.

If he does actually believe he has a plan, then he's a complete dumbass. However I'm more inclined to think that it was just a lie for the public eye.

As the marketing argument has kept being brought up in interviews it keeps being an issue he's made. If lies are repeated and could be believed and influence the undecided then they should be debunked.

You seem to be placing me in the firmly anti-name change camp again. I don't quite know why people keep doing this because I've quite openly said that I'm open to a name change if anybody can produce something to back up the claim that there is any significant benefit to it what so ever. Until then I'm against it as I'm against any change for the sake of change in anything.

I'm not putting you anywhere, just responding to each post individually.

Well I think it's important to debunk for the media and the public eye. The (national) media seem to be lagging behind on the issue to be honest but I honestly hadn't realised CTWD were fighting the marketing argument. Not quite sure what there is to argue considering AA hasn't even shown a plan to argue against!

Since it's obvious it's a little vendetta against HCC I assumed they were past trying to debunk the marketing plan and instead going down the historical/emotional argument.

Why does it matter if it hasn't happened yet? He has already stated numerous times that it will happen.

    Marketing definition for you:

Marketing satisfies needs and wants through exchange processes and building long term relationships.

The Chartered Institute of Marketing have an interesting insight. The customer is at the heart of marketing, businesses ignore this at their peril.

Interested to hear why you think this isn't about Marketing?

I've already said it but once more...

It stopped being about Marketing when AA was found not to have any plan whatsoever (in that infamous interview), WEEKS AGO now...
So he's using this argument as a public facade when really he just wants to change the name on a whim.

So we're now debating back and forth over a fictitious argument/ lie.
So if it was me I'd put all my efforts in the emotional/historical argument because all I can see is AA getting proven wrong (through example such as this expert marketer) and then either be stubborn or openly defy it by saying he'll do whatever he wants marketing plan or no marketing plan.

Your right nothing has changed. Hull City Tigers Limited has to make an application to change the playing name to Hull Tigers and the FA will vote on it. If we show that the name change isn't about marketing and investment but spite because the council didn't sell him the KC do you think the FA will be more, or less inclined to vote for the change?

Depends if that is taken into consideration. I thought the only condition was to have him consult with the fans?

How did Tan win the colour name change argument? Did the FA take into consideration and accept his superstitious argument that it's "luckier where I'm from"

The FA had no rules in place to protect kit colours, they do for club playing names.

I didn't come across a rule in the FA Handbook about the playing strip colours. So the answer to your question is that the FA couldn't stop Tan changing the colours.

The FA don't require consultation with the fans but the Premier League does. I've explained many times before, it all comes down to how the FA vote when the application is placed before them. The campaign hopes we have done enough to secure a no vote but there is no silver bullet. What the FA takes into account is up to them, they have absolute discretion. The only legal challenge I can see would be on the grounds of irrationality or club with a similar name, such as London Tigers.

Do you have a plan in place if the FA grant AA permission?
