What I hate the most is that we are woefully inconsistent and some of our performances have been the worst for a few years this season... and yet we are still 10th in the league!!!! I mean Jesus Christ! Our players can do better, we all know this and so does the media apparently, and despite this being a season where we all see that our team is losing concentration, making silly silly silly mistakes which lead us to concede goals (happened again tonight after Ash's diabolically lacksidaisacal pass) but we are still in the top half. If our players concentrated better, and had hit their stride (I am not convinced we have) I wonder where we would be. Our good position is totally beside the point, is the. Premier League really that bad this season that some of our worst football means we are a top half team. I just hope our players get their act together because we are missing an opportunity here. Ever other game we play awful and to make matters worse it seems to be of our own doing, silly amateur mistakes.
Can't disagree, project. I'd credit the opposition too but giving the ball away has little to do with them. We come back to intensity imo. When we have it we play better, when we don't we're ponderous and predictable. Can't believe we are top half because we were pretty awful. Luckily I think many other teams are even more inconsistent than us.
There wasn't much opposition there to credit in my view, and it's know time to take a closer look at why Laudrup cannot motivate the dressing room!............
So you get a hand-balled goal, get away with a stone-wall penalty and WTF was Chico Flower doing holding his face. Yeah I suppose you're right there was'nt any opposition.
What is fuccking anoying to me is the lack of consistency. Either we play like crap or we play like Barcalona.
I missed the 1st half luckily by all accounts were we really that bad. Hopefully once we get the next European game out of the way we can focus as I am sure thats messing us up.
It seems pretty clear, based on the available evidence, that the Europa League is detrimental to league performances for most PL teams (i.e. those not in the top clutch of teams). At least, so far, you are keeping closer to 10th than you are 18th (until Sunday perhaps )
I think even any neutral fan will tell you we where shocking, so what does that say about you not being able to put us out of our missery?
What I think is clear is that all this is down to a mixture of things. a) New players b) Extra matches c) Injuries in key areas (Rangel, Michu, Bony etc) 4) No real set team, as we rotate a lot due to many games. And guess what we are not the only team suffering, take Spurs, they are not exactly firing on all cylinders either, and they have the same issues as us, many games, new players, and guess what, they have on paper a much better squad, and a more seasoned manager (as a manager at least) So why is it we have some who think we should play top notch every game? Why is it some don't see as mentioned above, that even playing poorly, we are still top half. So we are playing poorly, but yet we are not? I mean how many of you, at the beginning of the season, would have taken 10th spot after 15 games, 2nd in the europa looking certs to go through. I tell you what, I would have bitten your hand off at that. So the performances themselves are not there right now, that is part parcel of playing so many games, if the likes of Spurs, Fulham, Liverpool, Newcastle struggle with it, what in some people's minds makes them think that we should be? We are all disappointed with the performances, but some are going loopy and losing theirs heads and have even seen some call for the managers head. I mean really? Whats worse is that a Canary fan can see it (no offence lol), yet some of our own cannot.
When did we last play top notch for 90 mins ? Never mind top notch from one game to the next! It's December and it's the business part of the season, everyone knows each other and the systems of play, injuries are just a part of football and haven't been as critical as they might have been IMO
Not many teams in this league outside the top 4 have played well for 90 minutes. That's why we're currently top half. Swanselona is right about injuries - it's something we've rarely had a problem with in the past but we've been hit this season for sure. Last night in particular I thought that having Bony muscling his way through would have been a bonus and more importantly having Rangel linking with Dyer. Tiendalli doesn't take anybody on and rarely passes the ball forward. Saying Laudrup can't motivate the team May be be true or may be untrue but he didn't do a bad job in motivating them to a Cup win and a top half finish last season did he? So I'm understandably skeptical. I've posted elsewhere that the lack of competition for places isn't helping. Williams's arrogance in knowing he's number one on the team sheet is affecting his performances imo. Lazy and ill-disciplined. That has to be the most useless I've seen him play in a Swans shrt and he needs to take a long look at himself and spend time on the training pitch instead of trying to pick up young girls on Wind Street every Saturday night.
So you give no credit to other teams then. Also, you know as well as I do that both those decisions went against Hull. And that ****ing cheating spanish **** Chico should have walked for cheating. he looked like a right girl holding his face.
Unfortunately some of our fans are like that and it doesn't do us any favours. I may be in a minority but if you check my posts I gave a lot of credit to Hull. A very workmanike performance, and Bruce's tactics worked well imo. You came for a point and we couldn't break you down - that's the way to do it away from home imo. Hull very unlucky not to get a pen and our goal was more than a little suspect. That said Laudrup called it right when he said a draw was a fair result as Hull offered little going forward and were under the cosh for large parts of the 2nd half. As for Chico - he's embarrassing. But he was fouled.
Ignore Dragon, he's just disappointed and frustrated that he doesn't have a season ticket There's always two teams on the pitch and I thought Hull put up an effective display last night. Well done for that. Some posters seem to think Swansea play against 11 static traffic cones as opposition.
Am i the only sod who doesn't think it was a penalty? I mean, he pulls his hands to his body, which is what most players do all the time to avoid handling the ball and making a big change in what the ball is doing, and if they start awarding penalties for pulling your arms INTO your body, then you best start preparing to give a penalty for every instance it touches the arms. Am sorry, but did it hit his arms, yes, would it have made a difference if it hadn't hit his arms, would it ****, it would have hit his chest. So tell me, what advantage was to be had by hand-balling it? None, so where is the case of a penalty? Then the case could be made that it was intentional, ok, so he deliberately moves his hands towards the ball, so we will call it a penalty, which in that case, the goal by Chico was not deliberate, so therefore a legitimate goal, so which is it? Deliberate, or non-deliberate. But Hull had their tactics spot on, we could find no space at all in the middle of the park, and I have never seen us so devoid of idea's. So credit where it is due, but as for the penalty and the goal, I will have to disagree with those saying they were both harsh on Hull. 1 maybe, both, hell no.
