Very impressed with him tonight - seems like the real deal. Who, come January, would be an ideal compliment to him up top?

    McCormack or Aluko.

    Graham in the meantime.

Completely agree - starting to settle into the premiership and looks a great player for our club. Not world class but very decent. Leads the attack and leads the defence from the front too. Not sure who would compliment him and would we willing to come to us and can we can afford... falls back to Shane Long I think.

Someone who's surname begins with an S. Be good to have SAS up front.

Graham will do fine, just needed a goal for his confidence. I'd like to see us get one more midfielder just in case Hudds is out as Koren has maybe had his time at the top

Sagbo was absolutely immense tonight, even when he looks to have lost control over the ball he is so strong that he retains it, and very rarely wastes possession. If SB can find someone to compliment him (Gedo?) (will he ever get a chance?) I think we'd have a great chance of finishing top half.

Edit:- forgot to say that Danny Graham will now get an even longer run in the team, and, other than his goal, which I know was huge, for me, he did very little tonight, this was emphasised by the fact that the switch with Koren saw us back in the ascendancy.

The way Sagbo plays as a strong, hold-up forward he needs someone like Fraizer Campbell up there with him. Obviously not Campbell but someone with pace, able to get behind defences and a good finish. A bit like the Heskey / Owen partnership.

McCormack seems to be a good shout to try for out of those currently available.

Can't remember if Graham is on a season-long loan actually so maybe we will need another player in, can't see that being Long who has shown great form for the Baggies

I think another goal for Graham between now and New Year will trigger a recall from Sunderland.
Probably worth Bruce taking another punt from the French league.

Graham is here until summer unless Sunderland recall him. McCormack I would like but I don't think he fits the description Mr Coat described. Seems to be more of a creator to me. Like a white Aluko who isn't constantly injured.

I'd probably leave foreign signings to the summer unless we can get someone really strong. We've seen with Sagbo (and others) it usually takes a few months for them to settle in, and January is when we need players to make an immediate impact.

A technical, creative forward would work too if we play a bit differently but we don't want Sagbo pulling defenders out wide and then his strike partner sitting deep outside the box waiting to set things up. Graham did great to make that far post run for his goal and they linked up quite well in the first half but he ran out of steam after half time and spent the rest of the time with his back to goal laying it off to midfield. That's when Swansea got back into it, we lost some zip and stopped closing them down up the pitch. I feel if we'd had someone with energy and pace to keep pressure on their defence at that point, to switch for Graham, we might've stolen another.

Stick Brady up top. Coming off the bench for now. Should give him a bit of freedom.

Might be a good way for him to play himself back into form.

Would Brady be in the box, though, or joining Sagbo out wide? We need someone central and both Sagbo and Brady drift a lot. Could work if Meyler is going to advance a lot.

I like it, this is like Sky Sports' analysis.

How cool would it be if the site had tools to draw tactics and stuff on though? Bob would have a field say showing us all his FM game plans.

Could work though. Meyler certainly has a tidy finish on him - I think he looks better getting into the box than he does sitting deep. Huddlestone is a better deep passer, Livermore links up with hm well and has a good shot from range. Meyler has looked the sharpest of the three getting forward into the box when there's a gap, as he very nearly timed perfectly tonight.

Aye, that's my exact analysis too <whistle>

As long as we can get bodies in the box I think Brady could do some damage buzzing around. Just as an impact for now.

McCormack would compliment Sagbo or Graham well. I'd go for him and one other, preferably Rhodes.
