Anyone off to one soon or been to one recently? Any good? I'm off to Roddy frame on 1 December and Martin Stephenson on 17th December
Brilliant RL - Roddy started with a few accoustic numbers then did a couple of postcard songs (sadly not Mattress of wire but you can't have everything) and then straight into High Land Hard rain. The encore was ok but i'm a snob so always pretend i don't like somewhere in my heart. Have to say that when he played walk out to Winter it just increased my annoyance and incredulity that that song was never a big hit (well apart from in london where it was no 1 on the capital hitline for abbout 3 weeks...) The stewards were quite heavy handed on photos and videos until Roddy turned round and said "if you want to take pictures or anything else go right ahead" so there's a fair few vids floating around on Youtube. I also suspect they may bring out a CD and even DVD to top his pension fund up - which is fine by me.
This was the last gig I went to, great band:
Just bought Robbie Williams tickets for the missus. Knowing my luck recently, she'll take me with her. I'll get me own back when she has to go to The Stranglers 40th anniversary next year.
No chance as far as I know. Current lead singer Baz Warne isn't bad apart from being a mackem, but cant hold that against him. Not Cornwell though at the end of the day, although JJB sings on a lot of the songs.
