WELL WE ARE GETTING TO HALF WAY mark in the season here is my take on how things will resolve
1QPR they will spend and spend to get promotion Rednapp will be hailed as a good manager lets face it anybody should be able with his squad to get up!
2Derby they will spend in January and should finish in 2 spot
3 Notts Forest much as I totally dislike three in a bed Davies he knows how to get promoted so expect Forest to do well in the second half
4Burnley have done really well but with a small squad they are bound to wobble
5Reading I like their manager and with money to spend in Jan should get a top6 spot
6Leicester /Leeds Pearsons team seem to lose momentum after Christmas whilst Leeds if the spend wisely have a chance to overall them
Well this should get everyone thinking !
    What do you think?

Not a bad assessment there Leeds60 <ok> I think Leicester and Leeds will both be there or there abouts with Reading missing out on the play off spots.

Derby for autos isnt a bad shout, I dont know if they will be given money to spend but sccchteve Mclaren has got them going <cheers>

Harry will buy his way up so you're right there 60 <ok> The other auto spot should on paper go to Reading, but they need to spend some of the parachute money early if they are going to do it.

If Leicester dont go up then pearson should be sacked, as he's had a great squad for 2 seasons now and spent cash.

Derby are doing brilliant since brolly man arrived and he's doing it on tactics, motivation and coaching skills, not on big money. If they go up then it shows what good looks like as they will have done it without massive cash, and thats what I like about us too.

    Have Burnley peaked too early?

I'm hoping that January will see us being the outsider who always come on with a great run, but not holding my breath.

Forest and job done, I hope fail and he gets sacked because he's a mouthy twat.

There are around a dozen clubs who are all in with a shout of play off spots, but only a couple who will fight it out for auto places.

I think Derby will trail off after a couple of bad results and will be fighting for a play off spot with the rest of us

Pretty good assessment, 60. If we continue with our current form then I would put us up as outsiders for an auto. I'm basing this on our second quarter performance. First 9 games, we won 11 points. 2nd 9 games, we won 18 points. Dramatic turnaround, and closely linked to the switch to 3-5-2. Any defeats have only been by 1 goal (except Derby). Here's hoping ....

Guys I think we need to look at the last 3 seasons post Xmas, and you'll see we've been fairly shyte. 3 seasons ago (Fist season back) we were in the top 6 all season and top of the league for a week at Xmas. We then went on to lose almost every game and manage to finish 7th.

I admit though that we have the best squad since league 1 days now, and a better manager who knows what he's doing and better owners although skint. If we sign anyone in January you know it will be a good move for the team as no more shyte is bought now. So we could end up in play offs, but can't see auto even on our present form as we still ship goals and manage to get beat.

    Outsiders for auto <doh>

Best leave the scotch alone jock <laugh>

If you average 2 points from now till end of season you will be no closer to the top 2 than you are now <ok>

You're right about our post-xmas performances, but remember, January under Bates was always traumatic - we never signed anyone of note and generally lost at least one good player. No surprise we didn't kick on with that sort of board support. Even if we don't sign anyone in January, this season will be an improvement!

our points return since we changed to 352 if continued for the rest of the season would almost certainly see us promoted in 1st or 2nd place on an average season.<cheers>

Like Cojones I think Derby will lose a couple and drop off, can't see them getting auto but maybe scraping a top 6 at best. Think the same about Burnley, they continue to defy odds but can anyone really see them getting promoted?

Think either Reading of Forest will go up with QPR with Leicester not too far behind. We will be around that top 6 spot but no higher imo.
