Okay, thanks, we have now established that there is an agreement issue with the club. I take it you can you confirm that those reps who attended from the campaign are in agreement? If they are not then the campaign is floundering at it's most basic level; if they are in agreement then the minutes should be published. From what you have said it would appear that you (the campaign) has made a commitment to agree the minutes prior to publishing, why? Surely that simple agreement shackles you to an informal non-disclosure agreement, something we were told would not be considered; the club seem to have you over a barrel, which is very disappointing considering there were no conditions mentioned. It is still difficult to make a full judgment on where we all are with this, but I would make the following comments as a reference point: · You entered into a verbal agreement over minutes disclosure to those whom you represent; your overriding responsibility is to the campaign group and the promises made on the representative forums. · The club has been totally dishonest with their customers since the outset of this name-change nonsense, from where I am, it now seems that the campaign group are using similar tactics with its members. This information about an agreement made with the club could and should have been disclosed weeks ago. · You have got yourselves into a pickle here, your credibility is on the line. You had no right to give your promise of this minutes agreement, you were there as our collective representatives and your take on the meeting is required, not some cobbled version that suits the club that has been lying to us on a daily basis. Surely you can see you are being easily manipulated? · What are you concerned about? The club don't talk to you anyway. Without the goodwill and trust of the supporters, what is the point or purpose of the campaign? If it is shown and proven that the campaign group have deceived it's current and potential membership, then there will be a forum backlash that will spill into the media.
If the minutes were issued in full, they could damage the club and nobody on CTWD wants that to happen. There were some crazy things said, some that were probably libellous and some that were personal about AA's family. It's easy to say publish and be damned when you don't know what's in them, we do not believe it to be in the best interest of the club, or of the campaign, for them to be released in full.
I could be miles off here, but a big part of the fall out with Gerraghty was the amount of discussion done via the press, rather than discretely. That being the case, I can see why it could be more appropriate to keep to an agreement on discretion in the prospect of future discussions. I don't see what's to be gained by the group showing their word to be meaningless. If the tv interviews are anything to go by, I also think a fair amount of the full minutes would be incoherent ramblings.
You think we could launch a trust with the aim of taking an involvement in the club for £2 each? Seriously?
No course not, although the links with the Tiger Co-Op were previously not known. So it appears we have a guarantee that NO money donated so far to CTWD will be used in any shape, way or form in the creation of a Fans Trust, and it is ONLY being used for the single issue of fighting the name change, and this is the current aim and policy of CTWD going forwards. Correct?
This thread has turned to ****. Full of conspiracy nonsense from the usual jealous suspects desperate to pour scorn on CTWD, although thinking about it that was pretty much the original aim of the thread. Muffinthegoat had it right, they're just a group of people fighting to keep our name. I can't understand why people on here need so much more drama and conspiracy than is actually present. Happy - I know you'll want to respond to the above saying how the same is true of Allam re conspiracies but I call bullshit in that before you even say it. No conspiracies with Assem, just his own publicly confirmed intentions.
lol good point. Dr Allam is at least honest and open about his intentions. I'm pleased you acknowledge that important difference.
At least some of the Swansea fans believe in football tradition (some posters on here should take note) this taken from The Swansea Way site It rankles so much to see owners at other clubs operating in a manner which seemingly disregards the wishes of the fans. I doubt Assem Allem cares what the sizeable proportion of Hull fans who disagree with the potential name change think, much like I doubt Vincent Tan cares what colour fans prefer their team to play in, but the line has to be drawn somewhere or football stands at risk of becoming like the NFL, where clubs - or "brands" as I should probably refer to them given the context - are exportable commodities, with no real thought given to the history or tradition surrounding them. There's a campaign being run by Hull fans called "City Till We Die, which protests against Assem Allem's plans to change their name to Hull Tigers. They also plan on singing "City Till We Die" 19mins 04secs into tonight's match (Hull City were formed in 1904), and they (and I) heartily encourage all Swansea fans to join in. Solidarity, brothers & sisters!
Are you saying that I am jealous of CTWD? It does appear though that no one is allowed to be critical of anything said or done by CTWD. Posters are under some sort of impression that they are represented in CTWD, but there is no evidence of that being the case. This board was represented at the meeting with Assem Allam wasn't it. Is this in the minutes? My questions will not be answered either on here or in private, why is that?
Tigers Co op are founder members of CTWD I am lost? So who is everyone and what are there roles? Was this all said in the first place? because ive not read it on CTWD? The Omega Man, Why do you/supporters not agree with CTWD/Tiger Co op? AA has been less then truthful with us and what he wants.......So have come not to trust a word he says! EDIT: dont do twitter or FB..soo if information is on there iam buggered
All those who attend CTWD meetings are listed on the minutes, as are the groups they represent, all of the minutes are posted on here(and the other City sites) and are available on the CTWD website.
Some people really need to have a look at themselves. They're starting to show and emulate similar egocentric power trips that our dear AA has openly and shamelessly already shown.
