    So what is the truth?

If the Mercedes was heavy, surely they'd WANT a weight increase to handicap those who are allegedly lighter than them, especially if it seems the Mercedes powered drivers are carrying a bit of extra timber (or a spare tyre?! could come in handy) on them.

    Your argument makes no sense.

Yeah the truth is Ferrari has 2 of the shortest and lightest drivers to work around their engine while Mercedes didn't need to aim for that option when signing up Lewis and keeping Rosberg who can still easily lose weight to Vettel's level by dropping muscle mass on Lewis' end. Your logic is invalid, it is you who are in the **** and so should it would probably be best to go back to Le Mans and get beat by Audi instead :) because Mercedes are going to crush the prancing ponies come 2014.

Where's the V6 F1 engine Forza?!?!?! are you even ready yet lol!

    The real facts:

Jenson's problem is McLaren's problem, not Mercedes'

A Mercedes supported team already has the heaviest/tallest driver in F1 using their engine for 2014 and not sticking with Sauber and their imaginary Ferrari engine.

Ferrari didn't want Hulk back in 2013 because he was 'too heavy' for that works team and again this year when picking Kimi again who is shorter + lighter than Hulk, how convenient coming into 2014 now... McLaren couldn't risk it because they're not the works team and need as much room as possible. Mercedes though will adapt the engine around the chassis 100% to suit 'their needs' and have more space to work with, unlike McLaren.

    Pirelli want to reduce marbles.

    Firstly, good. Secondly, how?

Presumably the FIA haven't changed their spec to Pirelli, and they still want tyres that wear out. For tyres to wear out, that rubber has to go somewhere, so what else can you get but marbles? Also, why are Pirelli only thinking about this now? There's a 2014 tyre test in the not-so-distant future, and the R&D can't be done in time for that, so are these tyres going to change radically over the winter?

Here's our engine, sounding great and already being track tested: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=od3H6Jxisfk

Already been posted elsewhere and some debate as to whether it is the F1 engine or not (though certainly does sound like a turbo unit), also please reveal the source of your other quote. Always handy know who is saying what.

The only alternative I can see is an LMP1 engine, and why would they test that before their F1 engine? They tested their F1 V8 in an Enzo:

It's a clever way to legally test your engine. It's rumoured that Renault are testing their V6 in a WSR car.

The LMP1 and F1 programmes will be entirely seperate, still very surprised to see either engine being tested out on the open road! Why not do it at Fiorano behind closed doors!?

As for the actual F1 engine, I'd rather still wait for the first race to see who has got it right rather than getting excited off an article based on rumours from a website that specialises in rumours. Lets wait until we can see some FACTs ;)

As another thought, say Ferrari developed a 1.6 turbo for a road car. Would people buy it? Surely they wawnt V8's & V12's so they can brag abotu it. Saying you have a 1.6 turbo just doesn't sound the same!

I dunno, saying you have a car with an F1 engine it would be pretty cool.

You'd have to explain that it is derived from an F1 engine, but it's still just a 1.6. Has a whiff of the Ford Escort about it!
