Watching that game - wonder if Fulham can hold onto that 2-0 lead? We'll find out in the next 30 min.

Martin Jol's parting gesture was to give Taarabt a full 90 mins at West Ham, where apparently he played quite well in a 3-0 losing cause. Rene Meulensteen then kept him on the bench in the 2-1 loss to Spurs at Craven Cottage.

We could likely use his creativity if Fulham decided to cut him loose in January from his season loan from us. Not sure if such a move is possible, or would he consider returning home, or would we take him back?

I used to be a Taarabt supporter. But now I have come to terms with the fact that he's as thick as **** and can't make a single decision to improve his own footballing career. Never have I known a player with such potential squandered. I was always hoping he'd turn it around but I've lost the faith. I'm trying to forget he exists.

I do think we would have scored more goals than we have with him in team.

Of course he is. He's priming himself for his big move to Barcelona.

We'd have let in a lot more as well. He's not compatible with Harry's style and he doesn't give a f*ck about QPR...

Then there's the effect on the dressing room. He wouldn't have fit into the team ethos Redknapp was building during the Summer. He had to get rid of all the trouble-makers and lazy gits and considering Taarabt couldn't even be bothered to turn up for pre-season training on time, he had to go.

I sincerely hope he returns of course. He is a genius footballer and maybe he won't but to state he doesn't care etc isn't my view and never will be. His soul from what i have read in the French press is still with us. He was forced out as well as no longer fitting in. To slate this one player don't rest easy with me as he performed very well for our club. I am certain no one knows the full Taarabt story and I for one will always give him my 100% loyalty and respect. Individual players of course don't always perform in other teams but I will never forget exactly how brilliant he was at QPR ... I for one would love to see him in his hoops again and would swap any of our current players for him to make that happen. I respect he didn't want this current QPR team and I respect Harold today for turning us into a strong team

I ask this of my fellow brothers would you pay to go and see this player again motivated and on form for QPR?

I may not agree with you DT on many matters but this is one where I do.

    Great post DT.

You are 100% correct. He is exactly what we are missing.

Sign me up - classic tale of a flawed genius. Prodigal son, Joey Barton, came back to the fold and has adapted his character magnificantly - no reason why Taarabt, if permitted, couldn't do the same. I believe he could still take on the Championship by storm, as he did in our wonderful promotion winning 2010/11 season.

Sorry guys but too many of you are living in the past where Adel is concerned. Whatever is going on inside his head is squandering an undeniable magical talent and to expect him to just walk back in and pick up where he left off just because it's the Championship is really fantasy stuff. It won't happen and it looks like he'll, sadly, be one of those who had immense promise but listened to the wrong people and made every wrong career decision possible...

Two "if's" there so huge as to be nigh on impossible to surmount.

Besides, he wasn't that good even with both those qualifications fulfilled. Well, at least not in a division not packed full of Mickey Mouse teams and players.

My views may not be quite as extreme as this but I'm certainly coming round to this way of thinking.

Same could be said of Stan Bowles.

But, as with Stan, it ain't gonna happen.

Did you ever watch, or actually attend any of those games Swords?

Many out there, but I really like this video selection, which includes our Championship glory days, and mostly woeful Premier League experience, where his desire to play is epitomized in our 2-1 loss to Wolves at Loftus Road, where he single handedly attempted to take the game by the scruff of the neck and turn it around, beit in an eventual losing cause.

Despite Taarabt's obvious flaws, you cannot deny his skill and that ability to turn a game around, or be a match winner, so at Fulham, in those rare games where he actually played, I still watched, in the hope of seeing his magic once again.
