Watching the bitters play this season, I must say Martinez has done wonders with Everton, terribly average team out playing Arsenal right now, did well against us and won at the toilet, yes utd are sh!t but still. I personally think he is a better manager than Rodgers and wonder if we missed a trick not getting him.

What does everyone else think, who is better?

Not much between them, Martinez had a meeting with Henry so if that means he gets on better with Rodgers then that's for the best

Wouldn't call them an average side.

Fullbacks are better than ours, just as strong central midfield, centre backs and keeper that have played 4 or 5 years together. He's brought in a top striker on loan and replaced Fellaini. Apart from that team isn't in transition as it's pretty much same squad.

They finished above us last year, this year were 3 points above them and in second?

I'm happy with Rodgers. Martinez is proving he's a good manager for Everton. Both are doing great, good to see both Merseyside teams up and around the top <ok>

  9. Pretty much this. Only thing I'll add is Barry and Lukaku are on loan so they will have to replace them in the summer. If they manage to buy those two then they stand still.

Or is it that Moyes is now being seen for what he is, a Crap manager. Was it Moyes that was stifling and holding Everton back?

With Martinez they have a manager who is willing to attack and actually have ago at teams like Man U and Arsenal instead of trying to settle for a draw.

On the BR/Martinez debate. Difficult, but I see BR more as someone who has a future plan and knows where he wants to take the club. Not sure I see that in Martinez.

Moyes left Martinez a more useful squad than Fergie left him. Not owning your best forward and best midfielder isn't ideal though.

Wouldn't call them an average side. Their performances this year have been good. We need to improve but I still think that our squad is better than theirs and more importantly we have better prospects for improving it further.

Henry said he never offered the manager's job to Matinez so that's good enough for me. Therefore Martinez was either mistaken or is a big ****ing liar! Hence I'll stick with Rodgers as manager for Liverpool.

I think if I were an Everton fan I'd be worried that 3 of their best players are on loan and two of whom are mostly likely wanted in the long term by the parent clubs.
They only really stand a chance of getting Barry full time

    Here fishy fishy fishy.

I'd say that Martinez has been the manager of the season so far. Followed by Wenger obviously then Pochettino.

I'm happy with Rodgers though. We're 2nd but there's still room for a lot of improvement and mistakes have cost us games.

No chance you'd get him. Even if Chelsea were to let him go which they'd be mad to he'd cost upwards of £20m and they'd be a list if takers many if which are in the CL who would be above you in the pecking order.

No chance Lukaku would stay with you. Are Barry's wages being subsidised by City? Seems unlikely you could afford him, especially on a free in which case his signing on fee would be more than your transfer budget.
