Michu - out with an ankle injury; Wilfried Bony has a hamstring problem; and Alvaro Vasquez suffered a groin strain in Wednesday's 3-0 win over Newcastle. Will we - indeed can we - take any advantage from this?
Unlike our gaffer..... http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/fo...y-joy-from-Hull-City-s-Graham-against-Swansea (......according to the Star.)
"All great strikers go through it. No matter how good you are, there will be a time when you go through a lean patch." Does, as a striker, not scoring for only eight games short of a complete PL season still qualify as a 'lean patch'? I'm guessing McLean, Fryatt and Prozzie wished that they'd had that kind of support from their manager.
It's a fair point. Don't get me wrong, I don't think any of them are the answer but Graham has given the kind if support and numerous chances they can only dream of.
We beat the Toon 3-0 without a striker. Vasquez went off injured early, Laudrup adapted to the situation and played 4-6-0 with Pozuelo and Shelvey taking turns to bomb forward. The rest is history.
Michu is back and bony is likely however this will be the likely line up Vorm Tiendali Williams Chico Davies Dyer DeGuz Canas Pablo Shelvey Michu Our midfield and front 2 will have no problem at all.
He was fit for newcastle but wasn't risked so very likely for this game also, http://www.swanseacity.net/news/article/injury-update-1222795.aspx
I'll be surprised if Michu starts because he's nowhere near match fit, but you never know. Personally I'd be happy to play without a striker and bring Michu on if needed late in the game. I suppose we just have to trust Laudrup's judgment. We have Davies and Williams, look-back. We actually have more Welsh players on our books than our dear neighbours up the M4.
What do you think about Michu this year? I'm not as worried about him as I would have been if we played you last year.
Same depending on where he plays. Behind bony he struglles more right upfront he seems to nick more goals. Though i think you should worry more about shelvey than anyone else.
Still a very influential player I think. He's suffered from injuries this season and has apparently been playing whilst carrying those injuries too. He's scored 4 already despite this so when fit I expect him to be a big player for us again this season. Another problem has been the introduction of Bony. They've taken time to gel as a partnership and it's showed. There were some real signs it was coming good then both got injured. I agree with the above guy. Shelvey is on fire and destroyed Newcastle almost single handedly.
I like Shelvey, he wasn't good enough at Liverpool, but thought he was a great signing for you. Shelvey can blow hot or cold, the game against Liverpool being a prime example. Hopefully he's blowing cold tomorrow night!
If Laudrup tries a 0-0-0 formation we might win the midfield.. I love watching Swansea but not Tuesday nights
