Great wins but I think like many here it is too early to proclaim that we have got fortress Anfield back .

The teams we have beaten like MITO said are bottom half (with all due respect to them). Yes we were dropping points to these teams last year but until we beat the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and City at home we probably should be discrete. having said that, Chelsea and City are favourites for the title yet their performance at away grounds are anything but title challengers. Chelsea have let in 3 goals in their last 3-4 matches. <laugh>

So I cannot see why we can't beat them at Anfield. All the other contenders apart from Arsenal have been inconsistent. The mancs have become the laughing stock <laugh>

We are entering the first true test of our resolve.

The next 4 games will define our season - whether we are just pretenders or genuine contenders - not for the tile, but just to be up there challenging with the other nail-ons

I see it differently tbh. We could conceivably lose all three of spurs, city and Chelsea and still be on track for top 4. Spurs aside (they are unpredictable) not many sides will come away from these grounds with anything this season. The fact we have them back to back I think helps us and if we can win our home game against Cardiff then even a point or tie would be a good return from a tough dec. whether we get another 4 points or another 6+ won't define our season. Smashing the likes of Cardiff will.

  6. If we lose all three it won't just cost nine points, it will do some major damaged mentally!

Sooner or later Chelsea and city (and even the mancs) will regain their composure away and swat off the smaller teams. So it is vital we get points off our rivals especially at home <ok>

It is looking like Arsenal this season for the title. If that's the case we would be left quite a few teams chasing the CL places. With City and Chelsea very unlikely to miss out, that leaves realistically Everton, spurs and us fighting for that one place. The mancs Saints and Newcastle are long shots.

  8. Arsenal are yet to face the tougher games too aren't they? More so than us!

They've only visited Old Trafford (lost), they've beaten Tottenham and us at The Emirates too but thats it as far as the so-called top seven are concerned.

Thats the same as us; home to Man Utd (won), away to Everton (draw) & Arsenal (loss).

Yep gunners have tough dec too. My point is this : losing all 3 of our tough away games in dec wouldn't 'define our season' IMHO. How we might react to it would.

Oh and Suarez is some kind of mage - which is nice!

Our December prospects don't really have a bearing on the question in hand as we only face Cardiff (no slur intended) at Anfield.

But if we are looking at our prospects for December then 6 points would do me well - no matter how the target is achieved. <ok>

I'm with DK on this one actually. I don't think the next three away games define the season (unless we get tonked in all three obviously). I know it won't be particullarly pleasant if we drop down to 5th or 6th by the end of the month but either way Arsenal, City, Everton, Spurs and Chelsea all have to come to Anfield second half of the season.

At least we're in a position this season where we are in the mix. Year after year we've been behind the top boys coming into the xmas period. Ok so this year we have a tough tough set of fixtures but even if we have a bit of a 'mare of a December our Jan fixtures are ALL winnable games so I hope they don't panic if we struggle in the next few toughies.
