After our friend Old Spark proclaimed with such confidence that his club would hammer the nail into Palace's coffin, and with his new preference to talk about his club right here on the Swans board, I thought he might like to participate in this thread and cast his vote on the survival chances of Cardfr City FC.
1 win in 9, it's not looking good for them. They need some goal scorers otherwise I just can't see where the points are going to come from.
So proud to be the first to vote. Take no notice of Sparkey - he also said he'd prefer Mutch in his team ahead of Bony. I'm not kidding. If you include the tail end of last season it's something like 4 wins in 23 - something like that. I watched the game today and they tried to play the ball around but were toothless up front. Palace had everything they didn't - passion and some front men who could put the ball in the back of the net. Cardiff were trying for set pieces but that was it. Absolutely useless. Cornelius came on with 30 mins to go but looked ordinary to me. Early days perhaps. I've said all season they've had the rub of the green but that will only take you so far. As I write the Mackems are beating Spurs too - I did say Poyet would be good for them - though it's only the first half so anything can happen. Edit - Spurs just equalised. Still think Pulis will get Palace organised, Poyet will do well at Sunderland and the new guy at Fulham will do the business. That leaves Cardiff in the poop along with the Hammers and one other.
Sunderland losing now but I've still got a feeling they'll get out of trouble. Another couple of results like that and Malky will get the boot imo.
I think their next home game against west brom will be the one if they lose that. I can't imagine tan is a man of patience.
I voted "tough but will survive" but honestly, it's 50/50 right now. We all know how quickly things can change and it's really got interesting at the bottom with Pulis and Palace finding some points. The bottom's nearly always more interesting than the title challenge but that's also more interesting this season. Good fun!
Sunderland lost, but their fight back showed promise, bit unluck not to get a share of the spoils!..............
The manager they got is fine, It's the lack of quality they dont have and they need to try and hang on until january in the hope that Tan will let malkey bring in players that he wants ... If they don't hang on then they will have had it as we all know what the second half and the run in is like towards the finish. It all depends what they do in january and that it will be better than the rest of them who will be doing the same thing...
I dont want them to go down for the gratification. I want to see more welsh clubs in the future reach the premiership, It good for welsh football and our profile for a start, What difference does it make to us that cardiff stay up?? If they go down then it will be their own making but i hope they can stay up being a welsh club...besides i have a lot of friends who support cardiff so i wish them well..
Swans fans have been predicting the downfall and bankruptcy of Cardiff for years. Like the cockroaches they are, survivability is something they possess in spades. There's no doubt that they've only got a couple of players of genuine Premier League quality. However, a well organised, well motivated team of lesser talents can still turn over a superior side who aren't on their game, as we found out to our chagrin. I suspect that they'll scrape survival because three other sides will be worse than them.
"It good for welsh football " I've never bought that. We have more Welsh players than them but we haven't that many. Results of the national team tend to be proof that it's a falacy.
Well we are not doing bad with being in the premiership with players or profile. fans around the world are getting to know that wales is not suburb of london england and the queen is not our next door neighbour who pops in to borrow a cup of sugar..
I tend to agree Lone. It's not our job to promote Wales. I always felt that the "good for Welsh football" line was just a throwaway cliche that had no foundation in reality and this has been borne out by recent Welsh performances on the pitch. Good players will come through no matter where they play. Ramsey and Bale, probably our only world class players, had to move away to do well and good luck to them. We have a handful of Welsh players and Cardiff have even less. Most of our team is Spanish and I believe most of theirs is English. Having two Welsh teams in the Prem raises the profile of Wales as a nation but that's it.
But surly with two welsh clubs in the premiership young welsh players may get an opportunity through improved academy structures and thus benefiting Wales in the long run, so I look forward to welcoming Newport County into the PL in the future
What a pathetic answer that makes you look like a schoolboy who wants everything and hates anyone else to have anything.
