Cross was fired in from left, Austin leaps in a fairly crowded box from about 6-8 yards out in front of goal and the ball skids of his head and hits the inside of post. It was a very good chance but maybe when I see it on a big screen it will not be quite a missed sitter.
We tried to sleepwalk through another game and it didnt work. We only showed some urgency in the last 10 mins. 2 great chances each and its not good enough.
you cant comment on if formations had an effect or not as you dont know because you never saw it. Same here. We played exactly like we did all season under every formation which makes it pretty clear that its not the formation.
Mmm.....big chance missed to go 2 points clear, but at least Leicester lost again and Reading lost at home to Bournemouth. This league really is very unpredictable.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25163893 65% possession, now do you want to change your mind and admit you are wrong? It didnt matter that we had 4 in midfield against their 5, we still dominated possession.
the only team I'd predict winning at the moment are Derby. Much improved 2nd half but probably not worth more than a point.
Definitely, a big disappointment - yes, we could have nicked a result given Phillips' & Austin's chances, but on the balance of play 0-0 was probably a "fair" result - quite honestly we didn't deserve to win, we really need to up our performance a whole lot more.
Fair play for trying two up top again but the players didn't apply themselves, whether that was down to instructions or just having an off day I don't know. The line up on the bench was wrong (unless there were injuries), where is Chevanton? I really think SWP would have made a difference if he could have come on with Kranky instead of O'neill, not that he did bad but he isn't a game changer and I think SWP does have that in his locker. I guess dear old Shaun's days are numbered. oh well we played bad but didn't concede and still got a point so it could have been worse.
Pretty sure SWP is out with an injury but Im sure Chevanton is gone. He hasnt appeared for the reserves for about a month. Hed have been given at least half an hour today.
Exactly my point. I know but he always says playing 1 up front gives you control of the game, I was just pointing out we had control of the game but didnt do anything with it hence the formation wasnt the problem. Somehow he thinks it was depsite not seeing the game.
It did seem to be the tactics today, unless all of our players have been struck with some sort of lethargy illness. We could have battered them today with the right mindset.
