Morning Troops, please log in to view this image As Durham continuous to sun himself in Vietnam, the match thread again gets combined with the Morning thread. Leeds confidence will be high as they have won 4 out of their last 5 games. Our home form in particular needs to stay consistant if we stand any chance of getting close to they play offs, come next May! In fact, September was the last time Leeds lost at home Watford have slipped down the table in recent times, having not won a game since the beginning of October, when they beat Huddersfield at the John Smiths Stadium. They have conceded heavy defeats against Yeovil and Leicester on the way. Leeds will be without Wootton and Blackstock, so Zaliukas and Smith look set to keep their places. Watford could be boosted by the return of five players for Saturday's Championship clash at Leeds United with Almen Abdi potentially ready to take a place on the bench. Abdi, Gabriele Angella, Ikechi Anya, Manuel Almunia and Josh McEachran could all come back as Watford look to end a winless run of seven league matches. Abdi has been out with a foot injury since the end of August, so is likely to be warming the bench. Possible starting lineups Leeds: Kenny; Pearce, Lees, Zaliukas; Byram, Murphy, Austin, Mowatt, Pugh; Smith, McCormack Watford: Bond; Ekstrand, Nosworthy, Cassetti; Faraoni, McGugan, Iriney, Murray, Pudil; Fabbrini, Forestieri
Morning. Elland why did you say Smith looks likely to keep his place and then swap him for Varney in your possible line up.
A great tribute on twitter from the chief. Great insight into what Mandela meant to him and Africans. Morning all by the way. Horrified to see Varney on team sheet again even if it is Ellands, shouldn't even tempt fate
Brian McDermott has again insisted that El-Hadji Diouf is on a “level playing field” with the rest of his players as the forward waits for a recall to Leeds United’s squad. McDermott said Diouf, inset, was the “same as everyone else here” after an injury to Dexter Blackstock raised fresh questions about the Senegalese international’s prolonged absence
Afternoon all from Limpopo where people are celebrating his life. Expect plenty of tears next week when the funeral takes place. Before then, we have Watford at home. Would like to see Byram back and Blackstock at least on the bench. Hoping for another clean sheet and maybe 2-0 to Leeds.
I never like playing teams who haven't won in a while. You always feel their luck is bound to turn at any point
I know what you mean, Josh. They have to break their bad run sometime, and the longer it goes on, the shorter the odds that it will end (if that makes sense?). Another worrying aspect is that they have 5 players returning. It allows them to shake things up a little if they want to, but more importantly, it makes more players play for their place, due to the added competition. Hope we're a pair of whingers that get proved soooo wrong!
In a game they HAD to win, with a full strength team (minus a goalkeeper or two ) we still managed to beat them at their place Unfortunately we sent Hull up in the process
