    Can't dance?

    You having a laugh?

    Dales Primary School circa 1980.

    School disco dancing champion.

I took my moves onto the national stage by entering a disco dancing championship at Skeggy Butlins but made a grave error in judgement.

My signature move was to bop away and then dive to the floor, as if to do a press up and spring back up in one smooth, dynamic move.
I would then carry on dancing like Shaking Stevens. As you can imagine it used a lot of energy so had to be used sparingly.

Whilst in the pre lim stage at Skeggy I was so cock sure I'd get through( and probably win) that I decided not to deploy my eye catching, and highly impressive, swan dive concoction.
Save it for when the judges had got rid of the riff raff I thought.

I went out in the first round.

    I was gutted.

Looking back I probably looked a right tool but at the time thought I was John Travolta Jnr.

I retired after the disappointment of Skeggy, I was heartbroken.

But don't ever, and I do mean ever, tell me or anyone else that I can't dance.

    Nasty twat.

Thats a shame. I really didnt know but it shows a lack of focus. You've got to bring your best to the table every single time. The spins my party piece, knocks em ****ing dead. Off either foot too, well balanced you see. Did it once on the stage in Tower. Fell off. Its never been the same since.

Black Elvis in flow at the Griffin.

    How dare you?

How dare you compare your moves to those of Black Elvis?

Next you 'll be posting clips of Messi and saying that's how you play football.

    Chancer.

Can't dance? Or Won't dance Carmine? My gut feeling is it's the former.

In my day I was the one who started the dancing off in the NAAFI. On my own. Whole place would stand still to watch, and admire my skills. Admittedly I was always pretty pissed but that just made me flow better.

John Travolta? I've shat better dances.

I would like to state i have never compared myself to Black Elvis, I know my limits. I would also like to state I did have hand in his career in rock n roll. well the roll bit anyway. We used to put him in a dustbin and roll him about. Character building.

    Engineers, 89 to 95.

I used to be mates with a lad who was in 3 Para in the early 90's.

Did you know any other Hull lads?

I have a feeling Happy might have been a boot neck.
