I think the reason there is less people on the forum is that NCFC fans spend too much time arguing with each other, we should spend more time arguing with the binners instead.

For me I don't see why there has to be so much division over Hughton (let's face it, that's what is the cause) considering we really don't look in danger of going down. I for one would be happy with us staying up in the premier league and I think it's unreasonable to blame Hughton for us not finishing in a Europa league place, not being Paul Lambert and not beating Liverpool etc.

The problem is we have to many scapegoats like Hughton, Snoddy and Rusty which really upsets me because we shouldn't have scapegoats, especially seeing as we look like we should survive for another season. I personally like Hughton, but based on our away performances I can understand why some posters think a different manager would be better for us, it's just so many posters say things like; "I hope we lose if it means Hughton gets sacked" and I hate it when posters are absolutely adamant that sacking Hughton will improve our away form without any suggestion as to who might replace him.

And then even when some of the Hughton-outers make good points and suggestions they are just dismissed by certain Hughton-inners with facepalm emoticons...

I realise that this doesn't describe all of the people on this board but I really wish we were all less pessimistic and united as NCFC fans

PARDON!! - There are still a few of us on here, for whom that word is not even, and never has been, part of our vocabulary <laugh>, but the ´united´ bit I´d certainly go along with.

I would second this. In case it had yet to be realised I am also not actually Russell Martin, just a fan of his, although I do wonder if a disgruntled Wes Hoolahan doesn't have an account here and post on our board which he uses to demand that he play more often and insist he is carries all of the team's attacking threat. Just a conspiracy theory of mine.

Damn right I should play I do carry the entire attacking threat of the team and I should be captain and paid the most, to be sure to be sure!

    Oops it's Not really me!

I don't post much because of work and toddlers.

Also I do think that the debate has all been said and unless Hughton gets a run going of some sort will continue to do so

Yes, I think you're bang on the money there. Whether we're in, or out, or shake it all about, we've made all the arguments so many times that we're all just repeating ourselves.

Perhaps we should have a poll as to why people do not contribute as often. For me it is down to various reasons but mainly the lack of tolerance of another's opinion and simply agreeing to disagree.

Take Carrabuh, for me one of the best poster on here but is continually lambasted despite being constant in his views. I do not agree with everything he says but he is shot down all the time just for having an opinion.

Good point surgeryman. At least he mostly backs up his opinions with an explanantion, as to why he has that particular opinion and I know he is very much in the 'CH out camp'.

The upcoming games will decide CH's fate I feel and unless we have at least 20 points by the end of December, then I feel DM and the board will be looking elsewhere.

I would just like to say that IMO, the team has let CH down by giving away too many cheap goals - especially the 2 against Newcastle, but the injuries have played a massive part in our downfall in recent weeks as well. <ok>

I disagree with what carrbah posts a lot of the time, however it often makes interesting reading and sometimes gives me pause for thought. I do lose interest when people spend more time slating others views than giving their own.

I don't agree with everything Carrbuh comes up with either but I have found myself increasingly supportive of many of his views, though not quite as outspoken about them <laugh>

I find him amusing sometimes too as I know some of his comments will stir up the hornets nest at times, which is plus point <ok>

My view is that the Hughton outers have a strong case, just not strong enough to do the dirty deed.As I have said before the weakness in their argument is the quality of the replacement available.Do we want Martin Jol or Holloway? Neil Warnock?Nick Mick from down the road? Elvis from Coventry?

I agree there does not appear to be an 'appropriate' replacement but I don't think it weakens the argument. What it does do is reduce the possibility of a change taking place, but the case for the prosecution is no different.

Candidates if there was a vacancy, do not just have to come from a list of people who are out of work and what about overseas? Malkay, solskaer, phelan, Hoddle,Bob Bradley, De Matteo, Bergkamp, Ralf Ranick, the Chilean bloke and dare I say Mancini. Not saying I have a preference but the job would create interest and we have previously gotten a manager from another club who did rather well for us.
Personally my view is that I think City will stick with Hughton whatever

I think Carrabuh has been proved right on one thing. He said that we hadn't really solved the defensive problems but we had just committed more men to defence. And that, once we opened up, the defence would be as poor as ever. On that particular issue it is hard in my opinion to say that he was wrong.

Haven't read all the posts on this thread, too much to take in. From what I've read here and from past threads is that there are too many arguments and spats. I've never been a prolific poster but I am entitled to my view and respect others. Nor do I expect other posters contributions to be put down. Clearly it is easier to hide behind a name. Some posters are serious, some are not. Obviously there's a mix of posters who offer various points of view.

The thing is I can't actually see any logical reason why we are so generous at the back and I don't think it can be blamed entirely on the manager or the players. We do obviously make lots of mistakes, but so do other teams yet teams like Man City and Liverpool seem to be able to ruthlessly exploit these mistakes and humiliate us, although Spurs away was an equally shocking performance yet they (only) managed to score two. One way or another we need to get out of this terrible habit of conceding goals because we have (very) marginally improved at scoring this season but we seem to be back to square one defensively, and if we continue to concede so easily then we will really struggle to stay up, but I think it's obvious that the manager and the players are all too aware of the problem so hopefully we can see today against the Baggies that they are working to address it.
