    All the best Dave.

When Suarez joins a proper club he's going to be frightening.

BBC Scotland Website has run an article on what the Union Jack would look like without Scotland.

I think this one could be very useful for another purpose.

Looks as if there are big problems with the storms in Scotland. Hope that our residents who are up there are safe and well.

Well, that's a pint or two of my finest off to the lab, she says if it is something very serious, they'll probably ring me today, otherwise my surgery should have the results by Monday! Fingers crossed!

Its quiet now thanks, I stopped Mrs S driving to Ben Cruachan this morning, but I doubt if the trees would have allowed her to get very far. Power went off in Dunblane at 715am, not sure if it is back. Sadly one casualty I think plus usual mess to clear up and where has my trampoline/bin/garden umbrella gone....

Absolutely not even a breathe of wind here today. Had a bonfire and there was nothing to put a bit a bit of oomph behind it.

Lots of bad news about friends today. Seems as if some people get more health problems than others, yet their lifestyle is not so different to the rest of us. Mind you one is on his third wife and I suspect that might have something to do with his problems.

Strangely we had next to nothing here, yet 8 miles along the coast this was happening - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wwCc...watch?v=wwCcwrWuar4&feature=share&app=desktop

Scully - I thought trampolining was a young person's activity....

RIP Nelson Mandela. You did so much for South Africa and for the world. If only there were more like you.<peacedove><rose>

I landed at Aberdeen at around 10:30, first approach aborted as we were missing the runway, pilot nailed the second one though, could hardly stand getting down the steps and airport was full of disgruntled passengers, then it was through snow home, never had crosswinds like it, was even pushing the merc of line which is usually stable as a rock.. Safe though thanks.

I'm sad and proud and thankful. Tears are flowing and yet I am smiling because such a great man saved South Africa. My parents were involved in the struggle and maybe I still carry the physical and psychological scars. I hope his courage and aura embalm South Africa for many decades to come.

Sorry if this is a bit too personal for here.

No it is not too personal for this board NZ. To see someone who had every right to be angry and bitter about his imprisonment come out preaching peace and reconciliation shows the magnitude of the man.

FW De Klerk has been paying tribute to Mandela, someone who helped to bring change about. He has talked about the bridge that was built between the past and the present. There are lessons that can been learnt from the friendship that evolved between the two men.

I agree with all that and must also say that the scenes of people dancing in the street to honour his life and give thanks are quite awe inspiring. It's an alien concept for the British culture but somehow incredibly fitting for this man.
