If we can come away with 8 points from these, I'd be delighted.

    v Brighton (Away)
    v Burnley (Home)
    v QPR (Away)
    v Reading (Home)

+ a cup Quarter final against someone called Man City !!

We need to be looking to beat Brighton. To achieve automatic promotion it means going tough places and winning

Burnley is a big game and we need to win

QPR we need to aviod defeat but I think we will lose this one. IMO they will win the league

Reading with it being at home we need to win

For me 7 points is the minimum we need but we should aim for 9

here's hoping for some decent Xmas presents out of that lot. If you could choose to loose only one would it be the Man City game?

Cup isnt as important as the league

Obviously I would love us to win but all I want is us to give them a game and no be embarrased

Last night against West Brom they showed their class but also their vulnerability

Absolutely! For me, the Man City game is just a bonus game. Of course I'd be over the moon if we won to move into the semi finals, but give me 3 points in the league any day over a cup game.

Deal! where can i deposit my soul?

I think (this league being like it is) we will win the 2 away games and lose the 2 home games.

As long as we beat Burnley, i think we will still be in the top 2 with only 6 points.

Luckily this month, we aren't expected to turn over any of the teams, so expect 12 points <laugh><ok>

My worry still is that when things arent our day were too easy to beat. Look at QPR and Burnley, when things arent working they still dont get beat

While it might seem harsh and were winning more games then them but we need to learn when things arent working and then grind out draws

I think you're right. QPR and Burnley could have off days against their rivals but still come away with points (eg Burnley at Notts Forest), but if we have off days against these teams and they beat us, which is what seems to happen, it gives them 3 points which we won't have. We can't just make up for it by winning against teams lke Huddersfield and Barnsley. Whoever does best in the mini-league between us, Burnley and QPR I think is going to be a cert for promotion. Burnley have the upper hand so far, and, admittedly from an outsider's perspective, the other two teams just seem to have that bit more consistency about them. You can't get beaten often like we did today and expect to still get promoted, regardless of how well you do otherwise.

Next 2 are "6 pointers" - win them and the Championship is ours to lose. Lose them and we'll probably be fighting the sheep and trees for a place in the playoffs. We'll probably draw one and lose one, so not much change and it'll be squeaky bums aka playoffs. Just my humble prediction.

I'd have to agree with you. Personally I think QPR could steamroller us, at the risk of sounding negative. If we beat Burnley I won't be too upset if we lose to QPR. Got to remember that a win and a loss here is better than two draws (not that we ever draw anyway!).
