Won again tonight wth a late winner, and are well in the hunt for a top 2 spot. McC has really turned them around.

I think its time people accept that Burnley are irrelevant to the auto-promo race. If they make the playoffs this year it will be an unbelievable achievement. I hear their star forward got injured last week and sure enough their results have started going south. They've just not got the strength in depth to replace injured players.

The next time I hear someone mentioning Burnley as top two contenders I'm going to chin some fu*ker

Since Schteve joined Derby: W6 D2 L1 GD+9

Only loss Vs Us.

Four wins on the bounce for them now, and not a particularly strenuous December coming up: Blackpool(H), Charlton(A), Doncaster(H), Huddersfield(A), Barnsley (A)

Burnley are crap now, their message boards have gone into meltdown. Ings injured last night, probably out on Saturday too.

They're hungry, we're not. 2-0 up at home to us and they were slide tackling us in our own half in the 92nd minute.

I note that Vokes' (4-4-2) strike partner, Ings, has missed their last two games.

I was thinking exactly the same thing. Steve McClaren has done a wonderful job at Derby - I do not believe he has lost a game yet (yes, of course, us!).

I wonder if this guy could do the same thing at Sheff Wed?

Former Sheffield United and Leeds boss Neil Warnock is in contention for the vacant Sheffield Wednesday job.
The Owls are looking for a new manager after Dave Jones was sacked on Sunday.

Warnock's collection:-

•Huddersfield (1993-1995)
•Plymouth (1995-1997)
•Oldham (1997-1998)
•Bury (1998-1999)
•Sheffield United (1999-2007)
•Crystal Palace (2007-2010)

They're hungry alright El Tel and that hunger and desire might scrape them a playoff place. They've no right to be even considered as playoff contenders considering they've no money and sold their best player to us in August. Who knows, they might do it.

But top two? Not a hope in hell.

I wonder how we would fare if Charlie Austin picked up an injury that prevented him playing a few games? It would be AJ +????........and if AJ picked up a knock? Nice to see Junior Hoilett & Matty Phillips pick up goals yesterday to share the load.

That's a good question Killy. We'd probably struggle too, no doubt. At least until January when we could buy any of our rivals strikers!

The thing is, even if their striker didn't get injured, I still think they'd fall away simply because they're in a false position. I've said all along, even when they beat us and went top, that they'll struggle to make the top six and I stand by that. They've had an unbelievable start to the season but the quality of their squad is nowhere near as good as ours or indeed Leicester's and half a dozen other sides. What they're running on is pure adrenaline and momentum and they deserve all the credit in the World for that.

But it won't last. It simply can't. It would defy the laws of physics if it did.

We've been very lucky with Austin, he is the one man we can't afford to go down. Many of us were saying we needed more forwards in the summer. I hope we get another big man in the window but I'm sure Redknapp thinks zamora will do a job if Austin goes down.

I remember reading an article interviewing Karl Henry, he started out as a striker. Maybe we could play him up top if Austin got
injured? :emoticon-0150-hands

I've been saying this ALL season, 2 injuries to thier forwards and they'll slip. We've been playing ok with 6+ injuries.

Farflung & myself were talking about Derby only 2 days ago, saying they were much more of a threat 7 they have more depth to thier team.
Gonna be a long season with forrest & Leicester & Reading in the mix as well. IMO

Pretty much matches how I feel, they've been punching above their weight but now looks to have caught up with them.

I think the same goes for Derby, they were minutes from a poor draw at home to Middlesborough, their Steve bubble will burst soon enough
