Ok, I'll explain.
At this stage of recent seasons Utd would have been probably 10 points ahead of us- this season they're five behind. That's makes a relative points shift between us and them about 15 points.
Of course anything could happen- we could slip away, or they could get their collective arse into gear- or both. But what might happen in the future does not alter what exists now- which is what I was referring to.
But you knew that anyway.

Of course they only need to gain six points on us over the rest of the season to finish above us, but that still represents an improvement of our relative position.
You believe they'll overtake us, fine. I don't go in for predictions- but I'm always optimistic.
