Now I'm pissed off and as frustrated as anybody. But lets not overreact here. We are not going to get relegated, or be troubled by relegation. Pochettino should not be sacked. Poor result. Poor defending. Poor tactics. Fantastic finishing by Villa and we lost a game we should have comfortably won.
And before the last three games we conceded next to bugger all. Now we've conceded 9 in 3. Strange things happen. Like Villa winning.
As long as Yoshida never ever ever plays for the first team again we should be fine...Championship player at absolute best.
They're wildly inconsistent away from home, though. Stunningly good performances interspersed with stunningly bad ones. Not expecting anything, but it depends on which City team shows up.
Villa did have a game plan and executed it well, all credit to them. To say Pochettino will be sacked is a tad premature. The comments about Cork and Yoshida are equally daft. Both important players for us last season and now they should be discarded on the basis of one game?
I think it's probably too soon to say City have sorted themselves out. Tons of goals, yes, but one good away performance doesn't change the fact that they've largely been crap away. If we play the way we did today, but without Yoshida in the team, we should stand a decent chance.
Very disappointed with tonight. As usual we dominated possession but didn't create as many chances as we probably should. The defence was terrible though. I'm a little surprised at just how poor Yoshida and Cork were. On the rare occasions the defence was tested they looked just as shambolic as last year. Gazza wasn't terrible but I think Boruc would have made life harder for their first two goals, even if he didn't actually stop them. At least Osvaldo scored I suppose.
If Yoshida isn't in the team. We're likely looking at either starting him, with Fonte at RB, or putting Chambers out there...doubt that Clyne will be back so soon if it's a muscle injury.
It's hard to get a shot on target from 25 through a thicket of players. If we shift people around, sure, but just having a blast while under pressure rarely results in something positive.
