The Henderson horse looks a very strong bet indeed, as long as the ground isnt very heavy she should take all the beating she stayed at home and has strengthed up enormously.

Lumpys Gold is favourite again altho not odds on this time - but is becoming an expensive horse to follow

The Odddog Euros are staying in my pocket until Bula ("The International" <laugh>) Day - it's my birthday on the 14th of December and my bookie always doubles my deposit on that day (max €50) although I will probably lump the resulting ton on the Fly for the CH if 13/2 is still around <laugh>

Very strong thing to say, I know they are bout 12/15 points behind but it wouldnt have been the 1st time they overcome that size lead, they wont win the league but hard to see them not in the top 4! They did go 12 matches unbeaten and they are always stronger the 2nd half of the season

I just don't think they're strong enough and as soon as Fergie went and then Moyes failed to bring anyone worthwhile in i put the bet on. If i'm wrong i've only lost a tenner but if i'm right its a pretty decent bet to have had

I am a card carrying Utd fan who was there last night and got to say we didn't deserve to lose that match but we probably didn't deserve to win either. People haven't seemed to raise the point that Moyes' Everton teams regularly got off to a poor start to the season and came good in the 2nd half. Problem he's got at United is that if you start terribly in the race to win the league you don't tend to have that cushion you get in the mid table. The best teams will regularly win and as we've seen they'll start to pull clear.

I'm genuinely worried about Champions League qualification at this point. If we don't make it I don't see how he will keep his job. Fergie and Charlton and Gill have made the point that United have historically been a very loyal team who support their manager. We gave Fergie 4 years to make drastic changes at the club. There was a plan to turn the youth policy round, improve training facilities and alter the team drinking culture. He had time because the vision was exciting and changes had to be made at the club.

The footballing world was completely different then as well. You didn't get such a huge advantage from qualifying for the Champions league in the 80's and early 90's. TV money was not the factor it is now. The business model of the club hinges on Champions League qualification for the £30m a year it brings to the coffers. Without Champions League football how do you attract the best players? How do you fight off City or Barcelona or even Dortmund if they play Champions League football and you don't? Wages then become an issue. Fees become an issue.

Moyes has walked into a footballing paradise in comparison. The facilities are brilliant. There's no drinking culture as far as i'm aware. The youth set up is world class. If you look at it like that why would Moyes be given multiple years to turn around a club that didn't need to be turned around?

The club needs 4 world class players to become relevant again in the top echelons of European football. If we got a new left back, a centre half, a winger and a centre mid we'd be a different proposition and the lads who play as regulars now could move to the squad roles that they are qualified for.

As it stands, United could really do with buying a couple of difference makers this Christmas. We probably won't but it would at least benefit us for next season because their bedding in period would be up until the end of this current campaign and it would prevent the mess that happened this transfer deadline day. Fellaini is clearly the wrong type of midfielder for us and was horribly expensive but Woodward and Moyes forced themselves into a corner with that one and they'll have to live with it now.
