http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/sports-personality/25196209 I know where my vote is going this year. Lets all get together and vote for Hannah
My guess would be Farah or Murray will win. More than happy if Farah does, he has achieved an incredible amount, but don't think Murray should. Ben Ainslie should get a life time achievement award or something, one of the best sportsmen this country has ever had. For Froome, winning the TdF should never be underestimated especially with such a hard course this year.
I don't think I've been interested in this since I was a child. I really don't understand the rationale that underpins it, my cynicism makes me think that the kudos that does seem to go with it, is just another way for folk to cash in- most of whom don't really need it
Murray will win it this year! 76 Years since a British man wins Wimbledon is one heck of an achievement. I'm not saying I want him to win but you can't deny the major significance this victory has had on British Sport this year. The England Cricket team should win the team of the year for their Ashes win in the Summer irrespective of how they get on in Australia!
Andy Murray all day long, and absoloutely 100% deservedly so in my opinion and don't really understand why anyone would say he doesn't deserve it. The most stupid thing about it this year is apaprently Januzaj is noiminated for the Young Person's award - absolutely ridiculous!
Murray deserves it. The fact that there has been 76 years since someone British last won the men's singles at Wimbledon (and it was another 20 years before Fred Perry won it - so two Brits in 100 years) shows just how difficult it is. It made the nation feel truly good about itself - I don't think the achievements of many of the others did, and none of them did on such a large scale.
And the amount of pressure on him as well to win it, most of Britain and all the media we really piling it on to him, an absolutely magnificent achievement and well, well worthy of winning the award.
Alex Salmond trying to bask in the glory from Murray's win was very distasteful but Murray won it for the country as a whole as far as I'm concerned!
this is odd, he's had 2 good games and he's not even decided if he will play for England FFS. Big club syndrome? murray will win the main award, shame about the personality bit
I actually like Andy Murray as a person, think he comes across really well nowadays and reckon he's good banter personally
does anyone know when the show is on? it's usually a sunday night, so i'm guessing it's either this sunday (8th) or the 15th
It is hard to say who should win. Clearly it should be based over the past year but Farah winning 5000 and 10000m at Olympics and then World champs plus breaking the British 1500m record is in my opinion much much more impressive than Murray winning Wimbledon
I must admit that I wept uncontrollably when dear Sir Bobby Robson collected his lifetime achievement award. Sir Alex Ferguson gave a wonderfully generous speeech beforehand and Sir Bobby was just radiant even though at that stage he was a very ill man. A wonderful memory amongst many!
Agreed that was a great moment. Even as a Norwich fan you can not deny his passion for football and the dignity with which he held himself. Football could certainly do with more people like him
