How did you narrow it down to just one comment from Red Robin? Well put together post, I feel more confident with Cotterill than I did with Mr Misery guts.
Red i could have filled 5 or 6 pages of RR comments about SOD, but i didn't want to embarrass the poor chap to much.
Redprintt, Ok i will wait for his first team sheet, to see if he's any use. What kind of silly statement is that, what your actually saying is if he dosen't pick the team you would pick, he's useless, beggars belief.
I still reckon he walked, cotts said he was not approached untill Thursday night,SoD was gone earlier in the day.
You call 2 wins in 28 league games being shafted, look how many managers have been sacked this season after only 8 or 9 defeats, I think our board for all of their faults was very patient with SOD despite all of the criticism and the pressure they were under...
The ratio was poor wiz agree with you,the formations were mind blowing,as were the subs, but something looked like it was improving on the pitch. End of December was the time to reaccess. I really really hope cotts has changed his way of playing the game, but there is a famous saying- A leopard never changes his spots.
things were improving? Are you ****ing kidding me. Never have I seen such a inconsistent Bristol city side. They played good for 45 minutes every 5/6 games then for the rest we were utter ****! SOD had to go before our "good" run started. To give him until the end of December is a ridiculous statement........
What would we have said about McIness? He's doing all right at Aberdeen. What would we have said about Pulis? Perhaps Cotterill will be the right fit for Bristol City?
You have to add some perspective to this, Forest fans still believe they should be in the Prem and playing European football and any boss who cannot bring this gets sacked and slammed by the fans. They have also ploughed through their fair share of managers in the past few years so it stands to reason we would pick up one or two as we are "recycling" our managers at a similar rate. Lets all give Steve a fair go, he cannot change the playing staff for at least a month yet, so I doubt he will be ripping up any trees yet, I just hope that if nothing else he addresses the imbalance within the squad and brings in a wide man and striker and offload any of the dozen or so cent mids that SOD seemed to swear by.
Reading more of the Forest fans comments- It would be fair to say that they didn't like him- Some of the comments are even quite amusing- If I took them all to be true, I really do wonder what we have just done.- Lets hope that he proves otherwise- To be fair, 2 wins out of 28, doesn't take too much beating
'We have some right dross, but SOD gets the very best from them. Redprintt.' LOL AD - Out of a million negative comments from this August you find the above. OK I'll take it on, let's have a date and context.
By the sheer law of averages we have to get a manager at some point that can deliver results a couple of times in a century....
"We will now have to remember whats been said about Steve Cotterill, could be interesting." Hopefully not a word of sense. Because if we have all turned into prophets we are in BIG trouble
The date 23-2-2013, (context) just proves that your wrong sometimes, SOD doesn't get the best out his players, as was proved. Noticed you didn't answer my other post.
'The date 23-2-2013' - LOL. And there was I thinking (and BJA) that it was this season in L1. AD - I stand by that comment. Context - We were in the Championship in his early days. Our players were dross at Championship level. Our early results under SOD also proved also 'he got the best out of them'. I was right, surprised ? I started to really slate SOD after the summer transfer window, his L1 team set up and when he picked Kilkenny saying 'I want to build the team around Kilkenny'. 'i will wait for his first team sheet, to see if he's any use What kind of silly statement is that, what your actually saying is if he dosen't pick the team you would pick, he's useless, beggars belief' AD SC will review each league game played this season on cd. By Saturday week he'll have seen every game, how we set up and players involved. He also has 10 days training. If he picks Gillett then I'm telling you - SC's useless. Just like in August when SOD picked Kilkenny. You probably beggared belief then but time proved me correct. Ps - something else for you to 'beggar belief'. Didn't like the way he addressed journalists at the press conference. Called them by their Christian name - smarmy sod trying to ingratiate himself. And when he said 'Pembo' I put my foot through the screen. Yeh, I'm clinically insane.
I would second that, but thanks for that image of you sat in your grubby y fronts and string vest attacking the TV, with a plank of wood called Banksy
