BURNLEY v WATFORD From http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25098619 Burnley striker Danny Ings is a doubt with a hamstring injury and Michael Duff is suspended. The Clarets are not likely to risk Dean Marney (thigh) and winger Ross Wallace (knee) is still out. Watford trio Josh McEachran, Manuel Almunia and Gabriele Angella are all fitness doubts. Gianfranco Zola's squad is stretched as Lloyd Doyley, Essaid Belkalem, Ikechi Anya, Tommie Hoban and Almen Abdi are all definitely out. MATCH FACTS •Burnley are unbeaten in seven meetings with Watford at Turf Moor (W4 D3). •Watford have never kept a clean sheet in 16 league trips Turf Moor, conceding a total of 38 goals in these games. •The Clarets have netted nine times in the final 15 minutes of games this season; a league-high. •The Hornets are without a win in six (D2 L4), the joint-longest current winless run in the league with Bournemouth. •Sam Vokes and Danny Ings have either scored or assisted 22 of Burnley's 29 league goals (76%) this season. Probably the fixture Zola didn't want coming up after our recent run. Maybe an away game could be suitable though. I'd happily take a 0-0 draw. Also, a warm reception for a Mr Dyche and a well-done for what he has achieved so far this season. COMMENTS WELCOME. ENJOY THE GAME.
I think something must happen for Watford. After dominating the last two matches and losing I think the game will turn and Watford will win, as a surprise. Will the Hornets actually wear yellow shirts tomorrow?
Strangely I have been expecting Burnley to come unstuck sooner or later. Wouldn't be surprised to see a draw.
We had 27 shots against Yeovil and 2 on target, well accoring to the BBC. Hopefully players can bring their shooting boots and get them on target a bit more against the Clarets.
Well, I reckon we will concede 4 and maybe with a bit of luck score one ourselves. And just in case anybody thinks I'm being pessimistic, this is my optimistic forecast. I don't think you want to hear my pessimistic prediction.
Turf Moor is not a happy hunting ground for us - apart from the 2 wins (and Chopra's 4 goals) in the early 2000s. I was there in Jan 1998 when we lost 2-0, one of three away games we lost that Football League Div. 2 (the old Div. 3) championship winning Season. I was also at Wigan's old ground when we lost 3-2 there in April. Our only other away defeat was at ........Preston - Lancashire is certainly not our favourite county for results! I would take a draw - honourable or ground out! Our last win in Lancashire was at Blackpool in Feb 2009! Before that it was in April 2004, the 3-2 win at Turf Moor - so perhaps we are overdue something - but I'm not holding my breath......
Recent form suggests we'll struggle and I'll predict a defeat since my current ability to predict has hit an all-time low.
Watford line-up: Bond; Faraoni, Nosworthy, Cassetti, Ekstrand; Bellerin, Battocchio, McGugan, Thorne, Murray; Deeney. subs: Woods, Forestieri, Acuna, Hall, Pudil, Fabbrini, Iriney.
Danny Ings missing for Burnley. They might well miss him. Game underway. Burnley lined up in a 4-4-1-1 formation. Freekick to Burnley, Bond punches well clear.
Well, need to let in less for a start. Let's hope Deeney can put in a good shift and the midfield can support him well. Could work well with some good attacking players in midfield
