Just cos Noble failed to make the stepup, we should write off every single youth player?

Who is writing him off? people on here are saying give him a chance or put him on the bench for **** sake. give Altidore or Borini a run in the first team.

You are writing him off. People say give him a chance, and you say "LOL heard it all now" what does that mean if it doesnt mean that you dont want to see him given a chance ? if you dont want to see him given a chance cos of what happened to Noble, that means you are writing him off and you think he doesnt have a chance of making the step up.

BTW, he has already been on the bench, and even made his debut.

Why give Borini a chance over Mandron, when Borini is not our own player and likely never will be ?

Have you seen the state of Sunderland at the minute pal. there is no time to give young players a chance in the first team. thats my point.

The state I see sunderland in is that we are incapable of scoring goals.

I wouldnt drop an untested defender in the squad at the moment, but our current strikers arent scoring, why not try another option

I'd play Jozy, Giacc and Borini as a front 3 tomorrow like. When Fletch plays at the moment he don't look like scoring and nobody else does, when Jozy plays everyone around him looks capable of chipping in with goals.

Think that might be a bit too sensible for NFWG dan. Like you I just thought why not give the lad a chance. Did anybody actually mention playing him against Chelsea.

Mandron and Watmore have 10 goals and 7 assists between them this season for the reserves. Promoting one would break the partnership. I'm on the fence weather now's the time to promote one of them. Think I'd rather leave their partnership to develop further. It could be a reason why neither of them have gone out on loan.

ok I've checked every under 21 result and between them they've scored 8 goals and 7 assists whilst playing together. The other two goals were a Watmore brace while mandron sat out. Goals have tended to come via Honeyman (who also seems to be having a good season) and lynch when Watmore has played without Mandron.

They do seem to work better as a pair.

I`d be very surprised if GP was unaware and even more surprised if KB hadn`t made him aware.

The thing is they`re still babbies. Got to be careful.

I agree, I'd keep them together for the moment like, the stats say their's an understanding between them. Would be good to hear from someone who watches the reserves though. Maybe start them in an early fa cup game and edge them both into bench positions if things go better as the season goes on. In the mean time we've got 27m pounds of striker available to the first team (Fletch 10m, Borini 10m, Jozy 5m and Ji 2m). Fully believe Guss will get a couple of them scoring.

Our strikers are not scoring because our midfield is **** & it's as simple as that pal.

Monty is certainly an enigma, who can go from the sublime to the ridiculous in the blink of an eye..

Going back to the original theme, I would love to see one or two of our youth team given their chance...
