What really annoys me about the Rose injury is that he picked it up in a game that he shouldn't have been playing in. Really pointless selection and Fryers would have benefited from a run out.
Is the toe being replaced by a biomechanical implant? So, yeah, I may have picked up XCOM: Enemy Within during Steam's Black Friday sale...
There's always a few moany Spurs fans around at WHL I had a good grumble about Defoe inisisted he take a freekick. I agree that Paulinho has been poor lately and I wanted him to be dropped for both of our last games but I thought he performed well against United. More than anything I was just surprised that you wanted Chadli moved into the middle as nothing about his performances for us so far have made me think he could help us creating chances and be a threat.
Cheers for reply, I thought I may have imagined reading the thread - it was a great table - but can imagine it takes a lot of work!!
Tell me about, it's as if some pay for a ticket just to have a moan. Chadli just reminds me of a sort of Sigurdsson type midfielder with a bit more flair and I think maybe giving him a chance in the middle could see him be more of a potent force whether that be scoring or creating. Before he got his first injury (basically first 3/4 games of the season I think) he was only behind Hazard and someone else in terms of chances created in the league (was 9 I think) so I definitely feel he's got a bit of creativity in him, surprisingly he's actually got 2 goals and 3 assists this season - all in cups though - which isn't so bad in my opinion for player that isn't really rated *coughs* Boss *coughs* ().
You might be waiting a while, FL used to bag 10-15 league goals a season approx, Pauli's last 3 seasons have yielded 8, 7, and 4. Better than some of our forwards eg. Lennon, so i'm not dissing it, just wouldn't want people to think Pauli is your stereotype Brazilian goal machine when he's not. Season stats so far in the PL of 38 shots, 1 goal and 2 assists would suggest he wasn't either. Once again its becoming apparent to me we're relying on too few natural goalscorers, hoping wistfully certain players like Dembele, Lennon etc. will produce when its just not likely....this deserves its own thread. please log in to view this image
This is what someone said about Paulinho "Paulinho is like a black Lampard, but also makes headed goals," he claimed. "He is a phenomenon." It must be true! But jokes aside he does get into good positions and with a little luck should have scored 3-4 league goals. He also looks more effective then Eriksen and Holtby behind Soldado.
They don't count! Anyway Chadli will soon be creating chances so Paulinho will have no excuses if he fails to improve his league tally.
Jan Vlad Dawson Walker Dembele Sandro Gylfi Paulinho Lennon (if fit) Soldado So I'm thinking AVB will go with what the fans are saying, which is don't change the starting lineup. I actually think he'll play Townsend, not Gylfi, if he doesn't play Chadli again. I'd rather have Gylfi because he's the closest thing we have to someone who can score against a packed defense. The closest thing we have to someone who can score, really. I can't see starting Defoe against a team which is likely to sit back. I could definitely see starting Holtby instead of Paulinho or Dembele. If Lennon can't start, I would think we start Chadli on the left and Townsend on the right. Of course, fixture congestion is coming up, we have a deep squad, and it would seem an excellent time to rotate. I doubt AVB will risk it, though. There are those who think he's too stubborn, and while that's true at times, there have also been plenty of times it's seemed he's yielded to a consensus of fan opinion, if there is one. I actually thought that was his mistake in the Man City game. We need to attack with some speed and urgency, even if it means bombing away against a parked bus, I think.
Lloris, Walker, Dawson, Chiriches, Vertonghen; Capoue, Sandro; Lennon, Paulinho, Lamela; Defoe Interesting
That is a very interesting line up, on paper a good mix of power and creativity. Paper has a lot to answer for.
