Worrying. Although I guess he has probably learnt something from this. http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2013/dec/02/rene-meulensteen-brondby-fulham
For me the last sentence of the article is the important. How much has he learnt next to Sir Alex. All will be proven. We seem doomed anyway....
Agreed... That's why I think we need more of the under 21s who are willing to make a name for themselves.
if rene can turn this around, he would have done a amazing job, he needs 20m to spend in jan, over to you mr khan
He only has to do one thing to get the aquad on board. Drop the show boaters. He will then have players willing to fight for the club. Also, it's easy to look back on someones past. Brondby was 7 years ago. People do learn from their mistakes. He also has 2 or 3 people who have been at the club a while that are around him so if there is cause to rein in the tigers and gorillas they can do it. Lol.
Totally agree Cravingawin. It's worth remembering Roy had a patchy record (a dubious spell at Blackburn) and wasn't rated by some before he came to the Cottage - he seemed to work out ok ;-)
Very different, Bobby. Roy had years of experience as a manager, the point about Rene isn't the patchy record, its the shortage of time as a number 1. I'm not saying he isn't going to be any good, but while he's a very safe pair of hands as a coach, he's a huge gamble as a manager.
Perhaps we just need a coach? Someone who can drill the boys in to a winning mentality and fight for every point. Are we going all continental?
