    Adam on target for stiffs.

    Result:
    Newcastle U21s 1 Chelsea U21s 1

Newcastle took the lead against the run of play in the 14th minute when Brandon Miele was in possession in a central position, looking for an opening when Adam Campbell sneaks past him and pokes a low shot home from the edge of the box. Good to see Campbell getting on the score sheet. Still think we've got a lot more to see of him.

The visitors deservedly equalised after 40 minutes when Jeremie Boga rifled the ball in from 16 yards. Up to that point Jak Alnwick had been the busier of the two 'keepers.

Sylvain Marveaux was through one on one with the goalkeeper almost straight from the restart after good work from Gael Bigirimana but Jamal Blackman was able to smother.

Team: Alnwick, Satka, Haidara (Gillesphey 83), Bigirimana, Good, Dummett, Obertan, Miele, Campbell, Marveaux (Aarons 74), Sa.Ameobi (Heardman 83).
    Subs n/u: Morgan, Mitchell.

    Booked: Bigirimana.

CFC: Blackman, Dabo, Christensen, Ake, Wright, Baker, Kiwomya, Swift, Feruz, Boga, Brow.
Subs: Loftus-Cheek, Beeney, Davey, Nditi, Ssewankambo.

Crowd: 365. Pity the kids didn't get bigger crowds at the games, maybe whet their appetite for the big time.

Problem is I remember Chopra getting goal after goal at that level. Paul Brayson before him. Don't know what it is, but we cannot seem to get them onto the 1st team field.

Jak Alnwick looks a canny prospect, mind.

I remember seeing Jak Alnwick and Fraser Forster when they were first starting out and thinking what a wealth of good local goalkeeping talent we had. Must have been an exhibition game they were playing in as there was plenty of subbing.

I remember Chops wearing a certain t-shirt that didn't go down too well along the road.
