I'm pretty sure he'll get his chance.

Skrtel will be off soon, Toure is never going to be a constant 1st choice due to age. Sakho is obviously the future and Agger is a strange one, Vice captain but if someone like Barca came in for him I can see him going.

I'm happy with both the Alberto and Illori signings we have to look at getting the right players in at the right time, their value may have increased and their asking price may have been higher if we had waited. I would only say it's a waste once they have been given the opportunity and failed to live up to their billing. For now I'll just wait and see.

  4. Fair shout but its based on rumours. Maybe we were only ever going for one big (£15m+) signing and we were keeping our options open?

  5. I expected both to go, obviously that would have made things different.

  6. He's played a couple of reserve games I think

Yeah he's played a couple of times for the U21's. Besides 1 or 2 games though the only real action he's had since his arrival had been midweek games behind closed doors, he doesn't even make the sub bench. Reckon Rodgers doesn't rate him?

It really annoys me all this, if Brendan is moaning about squad depth then he has no-one to blame but himself
Llori should be part of that squad depth
The amount of money spent on so called non first teamers, which includes Llori,Allen,Borini,Alberto,Aspas,Centre Backs, added to the loans of Moses and Cissohko, and then our younger players coming through Flan,Sterling Ibe,Suso etc should in theory give us the squad quality required but because most of these are under performing or not being given the chance, our squad appears thin.
Plenty of money has been spent on this bunch, yet non seem 'good enough' to count as cover
Give them a chance!!! If they are not up to it get rid
Sterling and Moses have both had their chances, give Alberto and Aspas a chance!!! They may suprise, next two games ideal

Would like to see Alberto Wednesday. Aspas, I hope to **** he pulls his finger out because we need him on last season's form whilst Sturridge is out. No better opportunity.

Funny this, I was thinking why Llori does not make the bench, but then if we're playing 4-4-2, then sakho and agger are ahead of him. He will get his chance for sure.

  12. Maybe BR doesn't see him at RB. If he only considers him a CB then he has Toure, Agger, Skrtel and Sakho ahead of him

Ilori was always going to be one for the future. Rodgers said that he cost around £4m (if that makes things a little better).

We have too many CB's - once we sell Skrtel in January, and I think Agger will go in the summer, Ilori may have more opportunities in the first team.

We need these players to come in and do a job, it gets on my nerves when you see the likes of Moses and Sterling being given an opportunity and then playing like crap!

We're at home v Norwich and I agree give Alberto a game from the start.

Also, we could try Ilori as right back with Johnson as left back? ...

It would give us more pace in the team.

I'd play Flanno again. Glen deserves to get dropped after Hull.
Then again, so does everyone else.

Massively agree OP. No way do we have the luxury of spunking £5m+ on players that don't even make the bench

    Brendan has spoken:

The Northern Irishman used defender Tiago Ilori, who switched to Liverpool on transfer deadline day in September, as a perfect example of adding players to build for the future at Anfield.

"Signing Ilori was about looking after the future of the club. Centre-halves are very hard to get," he continued.

"I know as well as anyone, especially working with young players, that they need time in that area. He was one that became available. He wasn't overly-priced.

"I see the price that is quoted and it is nowhere near the mark to be honest. He has come in, he will have six months to adapt and then he will go out and get experience.

"Hopefully in the future, maybe long after I am gone, he can prove to be a talent. That is the responsibility of myself and the club going forward to nurture it.

"Of course I have to focus very much on the here and now, but I always have to respect the club and have one eye on the future."
