Steve Bruce is a key component in bringing Assem Allam and the fans together. His comments on 5 live tonight include his opinion that Assem Allams wording was not meant to be taken as they where.

    Of course not.

Even after all these decades in our country his English is not nuanced.

Factor in also his tendency to talk cobblers.

Unfortunately he's also not learned the art of compromise, nor tact, nor diplomacy.

I think sees fans as unpaid employees to be controlled rather than as valid stakeholders.

Looking forward to seeing who our next Marketing Director is and seeing him/her do the biz in the transport window. Not much time to get up to speed, mind.

Allam really should start posting on here. He'd fit in so well with those qualities. <laugh>

LOL well said. Steve Bruce is a breath of common sense and fresh air in this debate. Both sides need to tone down the rhetoric before it gets beyond the point of no return. We all want what's best for the Club and the great group of players that SB has put together. Time for compromise.

Burnsy had a word with Allam before the game, he said he stands by his disgraceful 'they can die when they want' remark.

He's allowed to say what he wants. I'm glad he shows his true colours and speaks his mind rather than hiding behind a facade that we're all wonderful when in reality he hopes some of us would die. If someone's got something to say I'd rather them say it, particularly if I'm not going to like it.

He said people can die when they want, not that he hopes people die...

When you say Burnsy "had a word" like in "eh lad what do you think you're doing" or did he interview Assem Allam?
I only ask because what you have posted is open to interpretation?

It wasn't an interview- it was just an off the record chat

He understood exactly what he said, but his words have been taken out of context. In response to 'City til we die' he said they can die whenever they want, not the same as saying 'the protesters can die', it made a good sound bite though

Well said Miggins.Sad when a protest movement latch onto misinterpretations to back up their cause and create hatred.

I've asked you before to point to one of my posts to back up your comments. I'm still waiting. Perhaps you can point out one of my posts that is aimed at creating hatred.

Our protest movement on Sunday sang City Till I Die a few times and We'll Die When We Want. There was also a few flags. So much for attempting to create hatred.

Ok so it wasn't a recorded interview that could be played over and over and listened to time and again. Burnsy just spoke to him before the game and said so on his radio show this morning. He did not give a verbatim account of everything that was said.

Obadiah.I am sorry if you think I have accused you of any foul play.I have never intended this. You are one of the people in the protest group I have the most respect for.
I am again referring,by some protesters, to the twisting of the use of the word COMMON deliberately so it sounded snobbish rather than in common useage. This could certainly stir up hostility when it was an honest answer and not meant to be snobbish.
I cannot recall criticising you personally and sincerely apologise if that is the impression given

Yes in a professional capacity … plus my brother worked with him for many years during his time at Humberside. Why do you ask LNB?
