Is going to the cinema with a girl a date?

Sure, I bought the tickets (I usually help my friends out, especially Uni ones who have even less money than me), we sat in the back row (I booked online, might as well get the comfy seat upgrade you get for free), we shared sweets (it's a recession, only practical), and she did fancy me at one point in time (and thus I knew she'd say yes to see a film I would comfortably have seen by myself if it was socially acceptable to do so), but we did not go to a meal/drinks after or before, we just met up and watched a film. No hand holding, no kissing etc.

I would like to know if my friend's are just winding me up here, or whether there is some conventional wisdom.

Slightly more on-topic, but as a general aside, if you take a girl to the match, would you or they consider that a date? I'd consider it more a way of sub-consciously showing the more despicable side of me in sporadic bursts before she unwittingly gets into a relationship with a monster, and then bemoans my evil nature... If it had been my first date with DT, I'd have dumped her straight away... "Why have they stopped again??"... "Offside"... "What's offside?"... "I wish I was gay"... "What did you just say?!"... "I said it's gone out of play"...

Oh and she did leave because she hasn't got a sense of humour... So if it's a date, it was a bad date!

Like I said, you should just nail it and sort the detail out later on.
    I chose option 3 though.

Seems like it was for her anyway.

Maybe you should get on your hands and knees and try and get DT back.

    1) Well she would think that, she fancied me, and clearly had no interest in Thor 2. But as an impartial observer, is her assessment (that of a crazy person... Of course, I may be biased) fair?

    2) So WP can mercilessly destroy her delusions of Santon?!

I wouldn't consider it a date but everyone is different. Some people consider any form of going out with the opposite sex as a date/yearning for the horizontal jog.

In a roundabout way, are you blaming my merciless slaughter of Santon's pathetic defending as the reason for a breakdown in your relationship? I resent this. I even PM'd you and told you that it was not ok to practice animal noises during intercourse, but would you listen?

Yes to the dating someone who likes Papiss, gotta be worth a try.

I think age is relevant; I don't think anyone over 21 should consider the cinema a date location; once an individual has matured past that 21st birthday, they have to realise that relationships are either based on sex (i.e. the nightclub pull) or "personality"; thus going to the cinema achieves neither rumpy pumpy nor discovery chat, so isn't a date - it's only a date for clumsy teenagers with fck all to talk about.

Secondly, it's clearly Pardew's fault that his relationship broke down. And the fact that Santon's often bad at defending. This is gospel.
