According to Rumour Control this morning, the Charlton staff have not been paid today. Feel sorry for the ordinary Charlton staff if that is the case, must be a nightmare.
The going rate is 15 points, where would that leave you, more concerning it would probably save Nilwall.
This really is not very helpful, even if the payment was late it should not have been put into a public forum. This is not a go at you Vol but at the originator Rick Everitt. We are in the middle of a delicate Takeover, which could go either way. What we don't need is negative speculation.
Not surprised if it was rick. He's always been in it for himself. No consideration to what comes out of his mouth.
rick comes across as a proper dickhead. got a severe chip on his shoulder about being let go and cant drop it. dont class him as a fan anymore, just an annoyance.
He is an odious, slimy, toad of a man. Even now, he is making it awkward, putting up every negative post and rumour to try and embarrass the owners and hopefully scupper any deal, so he can keep playing the victim. Pathetic silly tit and a fantasist.
Interesting responses !all from Charlton fans that I respect. Rick was correct, though. The Charlton staff woke up yesterday morning and had not been paid. That is horrible. They were paid later in the day. That points to a business with cash flow problems.what is going on ?
None of us know what's going on. But continually filling the internet with negative Charlton stories at a time when there are obviously potential buyers sniffing is unhelpful. Romantically harking back to the good old days does us no good, those days are gone and we are just a business like so many clubs. I would rather that wasn't the case but since it is I'd like CAFC to be the sort of business that people feel they want to invest in.
The problem could and should have been sorted out at source. If the payroll was going to be late the CFO should have told the staff to put their minds to rest. It should not have been put on a public forum. The communication skills of the powers that be are truly dreadful.
Could have been an admin error? Some just love reading into something what they can, kind of like those who believe in fortune tellers. And I agree with the comments that the information should remain off a public forum. As someone who works for the club (be it part-time) anything I hear or see I keep away from forums. I suggest Rick does the same, though I doubt he will as he has a vendetta against Charlton. Also he seems to love being the spotlight. Anyway, said my piece.
Vol. you can't describe it as cash flow problem when in truth, nobody knows, except of course, the club (and I expect whoever leaked and broke the story) if you think it through, the problem is more likely to be admin at the club or the bank, it's hardly likely that in the middle of due diligence, T J and Slater are going to have emptied the club bank accounts, and showed publicly that they can't meet the wages. The real story here is why some snidey, lowlife mongrel waited less than 15 minutes to post this story on CL. If only gingervitis affected the hands, then this non story would never have done the rounds.
Anyone else notice that the cover of the calendar has 4 of the players not out of contract in the summer on it? Read in to it what you will, but in these cases you usually opt for your biggest stars - JJ, kermo etc.
I noticed Jordan Cousins appears in November (my birthday month), but will he still be our player in eleven months?
You can't be that skint - you tried to sign Andy Keogh on loan yesterday and offered to pay 100% of his wages
There is only one reason paying the staff is ever a problem. Blame who you want, dress it up how you want, you are in financial melt down. You will do well not to be in admin by Christmas. Any investor would be mad to part with cash now. Let it go under and start debt free with a clean slate.
OK - Deadline day - but you try to sign him nonetheless http://www.herald.ie/sport/soccer/keogh-frustrated-as-millwall-block-loan-to-burnley-29797938.html
