Everyone connected with football were disappointed that the thick chavs won the trophy playing anti-football. Thank goodness no one copied their awful example. Total embarrassment and undeserved.
Scoring two goals against Barca away is NOT one of the greatest CL achievements ever (unless you only mean for Chelsea of course).
At the time they were the best team on the planet so I would say it was a decent achievement by anyone's standards.
Everyone connected with football? Really? Everyone? When Barca were steam rollering everyone including you lot, we beat them over two legs. We then go to Bayern and win the trophy and you think that doesn't deserve to win it? Your right mate. Total embarrasment is what you are.
In the last decade Barca have won the CL three times, 2006, 2009 and 2011. They have not even been runners up once during that period so it would seem knocking them out of the competition (beating them) is not all that rare.
It is when 2-0 down and down to 10 men you plank. Name one other team that has done that to Barca in the last few years in such a big game, just one...
Real Valladolid did it in 2007, 3 nil down and came back to draw with the goalkeeper sent off in the 42 min. Next question
That does put Chelsea in a pretty special and elite group of teams. That said, you have to be pretty special to try and assault the opposition's centre forward when 2-0 down away to Barca...
so over 6 years ago in a game nowhere near as important as a C.L semi 2nd leg. Cant be arsed to check but bet it wasn't at the nou camp either.
Your question was answered, it was a league game at Real Valladolid ground, but the league is a bigger game then the CL
Congrats, do you want a cookie? Although I'm sure there's a cookie vendor in that giant bus of yours that's parked right in from of Cech.
Out of interest, how many teams have ever gone to the Nou Camp, gone 2-0 down and then their captain has decided to assault the opposition centre forward thus leaving his team to play half the game with ten men? Can't think of many clubs who would ever consider doing such a stupid thing.
It does seem like Gordon Brown style reasoning. "Aren't we so great - we saved the economy...after we ****ed it up in the first place". Or Liverpool's effort of "No one has ever come back from three goals down in the CL final before". Mostly cos very few teams have been **** enough to go three goals down. Either way, recovering from your own ineptitude is not as impressive as simply beating the opponents well. Your 2-2 draw has nothing on Bayern's win, or even Inter's well managed 1-0 loss that sent them through without the need for any heroic comebacks with an injury time goal against a team throwing all its players forwards.
