Did anyone else listen to this incredible interview on BBC 5 live radio last night? Bugner come across as an a totally deluded absolute twat..He described Henry Cooper and Harry Carpenter as pathetic morons. Said he was the greatest white heavyweight ever, with millions of British fans who still idolise him. He said the only great thing that the interviewer has ever done is interview Joe Bugner. These are just a sample of some of the comments he come out with which had the interviewer seething...

I was good mates with Terry Lawless and he hated bugner. Throughout the build up to his fight with Terry's lad Bruno, he would get his lawyers to send letters, always referring to Bugner as Joe Bugner Ltd. He did have a natural defensive style but lacked any killer instinct at all, hence the latter bulk of his fight going the distance. There was a lad who Holmes or Tyson fought called Texan summat that fought him on a Millionaires cruise for a small packet and absolutely battered him for 6 rounds before the ships captain jumped into the ring to stop the fight, the ref was happy for it to go on :)

Can't blame the ref like <ok>

He was putting himself in the same bracket as Ali and Frazier in the fame stakes, and was incredibly condescending to the interviewer Steve Nolan.

He had no fame stakes, he only pist off to Australia to get out of paying child maintainence and he was regarded as a wife beater. Was **** in the gym ring, a human punch bag with a massive ego..

Bugner was a joke in my house growing up. Couldn't punch for **** and absorbed punches with his flab. Boring ****a to watch fight as well.

I have always thought that 'Big Joe' was so deluded about his ability and status in the game that he must surely be a dirty mag. Maybe it something to do with the name Joe? ;)

I am even more convinced about this after the latest parcel of ****e to exit his useless mush.

The British public never forgave him for the dodgy decision he beat Henry Cooper with.
That and the fact he wasn't very good at all.

He tried to big up the Jerry Quarry tag, the great white hope when fighting Ali but became known in boxing circles as the big white dope..

    Bugner?

Saw him not fight Ali, not fight Frazier and not beat a 37=year-old middleweight called Cooper.

    Total knob-jockey

Can you imagine him fighting (or not fighting) Audley?

    zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

A boxer whose achievements in life never matched up to the achievements in his head.

A supposed prize fighter. A proper prize kernt.

Met Henry Cooper when he was doing the rounds on the appearance circuit after he lost his money from being a Lloyds name. Didn't hold Bugner in particularly high regard...

Joe Bugner at best should have been in the boxing booths of the town moor.

I'd loved to have seen him milling in P Coy.

The boxer I was trying to reemember that battered him on the ship was Randall Tex Cob who fought Holmes. Bugner's claim to fame was probably beating Richard Dunne, opened a lot of doors for a man without a key..<ok>
