Yes, I don't think it was tactics or formations but the attitude of the players on the pitch, that comes from the manager to some degree.

Anyway I'm not going to go on about it the next game is now very important.

Erm, I think you'll find Gerrard's goal today was only the third we've let in at the KC this season, but let's not allow facts to get in the way of a good tantrum <ok>

now seeing there were NO hull fans on the match thread before the game i am suspicious here.

the only hull city participation was the save our club thread.

so hull at home? I looked you guys played lower half teams at the time you played them. And you did ok, well in fact. precisely what a promoted team needs to go do. in fact away from home IMO you did even better by playing some of the top top teams and giving a decent account even if you did lose some.

in short. LFC needs to outfight teams like hull. hull wanted it more, simple.

Haven't read anything of the comments on here but here is my take.

Hull are pretty solid at home this season, so it was always going to be a tricky match. Having said that, we should be beating these teams. Not only did we lose, but we were dominated and embarrassed. Now I thought our midfield would only struggle against decent teams but now we can Hull to the list of midfields who have owned us.

Moses has been singled out by a lot of people but no one bar Mignolet and Coutinho (and Flanno to some extent) showed any fight. Absolutely embarrassing performance by almost everyone.

I had a theory we need at least 2 out of Suarez, Sturridge and Coutinho playing to score goals. Shamefully, this was proven yesterday when we looked like the old LFC under Rodgers before he signed Coutinho and Sturridge. No creativity, plenty of passing around our defence. We may have had possession but it was all in the wrong half. No one wanted the ball from the midfield, there were so many gaps and so much space in between our players - where are the options? Where are the triangles? Non-existent.

It's scary knowing that almost a year on from January, our attack is still reliant on SAS and Coutinho.

Our defending has been poor - Toure didn't look sharp whilst Skrtel for all of his 'visible' blocks he makes is simply not good. They don't have any help from the two in front of them - I believe 2 of Hull's goals came from shots by their midfielders!! Who was tracking them?? Huddlestone - the slowest, most immobile midfielder I have seen was given a free run into our box. There may a reason as to why Agger and Sakho weren't starting but please play Sakho! Yet again, we cannot handle the big physical striker and we leave the one defender who is best equipped to deal with this on the bench. I just hope Sakho is some pawn in a political game (we all know how much Rodgers wanted Williams).#

It can be easy to criticise our wingers but Sterling needs a loan move and he will get better. Moses for the all the mistakes he made at least he tried to run at the defenders. Neither had a lot of supply but neither did a great deal with it once they did. Suarez had a mare and tried to do too much. Clearly has no faith in those around him without Sturridge and Coutinho.

Henderson is all energy and grit - no real technical ability but I'm sure he will get better. Fact is, he's only in the team to carry Gerrard and Lucas. The less said about them, the better. Gerrard scored a beautiful free kick - I wish we had rolling subs because I would bring on Gerrard whenever there is a set piece! Oh and Johnson was dross again.

Bad day in the office really - 2 own goals, 2 deflections, Moses should have put us 2-1 in front. It was a day where absolutely nothing went our way and deservedly so.

And bring back Cissokho - I know he's had a tough time (personally, Arsenal game was his worst performance but other games have been unfairly exaggerated). He's a specialist left back, I rather he is playing than Flanno who is exposed against speed and aerial ability. Flanno offers nothing going forward either.

I agree he offers nothing going forward but he was solid yesterday, imo one of the few players that played well.

Well that was piss poor by anybodys standards yesterday. A performance that highlighted all our weaknesses and none of our strengths. Credit to Hull but from our point of view it was lackluster from front to back.

A wasted opportunity and another game showing the lack of cohesion we have away from home at the moment. We now have two home games in which we can hopefully restore the confidence and put this one behind us. Shocking day but 6 points from the next 6 and we will still be in reasonable shape going into what will be our toughest period of the season.

At least he offered a bit of fight but he couldn't compete in the air and he was targetted.

In the context of a 20 year old playing in an unfamiliar position - he did well.

In the context of a team that is trying to qualify and compete at the highest level - it simply wasn't good enough.

Not singling him out though - there were plenty of other players who were worse than him, and Flanno can at least hold his head higher than some.

One bonus from the game is it's pretty clear for all to see that 2 or 3 quality players have to be brought in during January. A midfield boss, a FB, and a Playmaker/Striker.

Although I fear we'll wait for the Suarez cash (if he goes!) before we buy another striker.

Hopefully Suso when he comes back has matured as a player and then we have back-up/competition for Coutinho.

I still think if we get a couple of players in Jan we're still in for a top 4 finish.

Firstly - Norwich City and then West Ham at home, followed by Spurs away and finally Cardiff City at home await Rodger's side. Going by the way this Liverpool team has performed against lesser sides in the past (except Hull!), we can reasonably expect Rodgers men to take at least 9 points from these four games, with a draw or even a win against a hapless Spurs side a distinct possibility.

Over the same period of games, Arsenal must play Everton and Chelsea at home and Man City away, as well as a Champions League tie at Napoli sandwiched in-between. Chelsea must travel to the Emirates, playing a total of five games between now and 23rd of December. Man City have an even more packed schedule, with five games between the now and the 21st, including tests against Southampton away and Arsenal at home.

Everton’s next two games are against Man Utd and Arsenal away, United themselves must travel to Everton and Newcastle, and Spurs welcome Liverpool to White Heart Lane before travelling to Southampton, who face a gruelling fixture list with ties against Newcastle away as well as Man City and Tottenham at St Mary’s.

Much has been made about Rodgers’ Liverpool being unable to beat the big teams, but should we just continue to overcome inferior sides we could and should still be in and around the top 4 – possibly with a little breathing space – by the time we face Man City and Chelsea away; our last two games before the January transfer window flies open.

I see Rodgers is blaming his 'thin squad' for the defeat.

One injury i.e. Sturridge & he's reverted to type & looked to point the finger of blame away from himself.

I hope the Yanks remind him of the £7m on Aspas, £11m on Borini, the £8m on Alberto & the £15m on Allen - that's over £40m of 'squad depth' that he didn't use for one reason or another yesterday.

I like your speculation (and there is certainly no harm in doing that). <ok>

But I am afraid the most likely scenario after all these matches will be Arsenal, Chelsea, City, United, Everton, Spurs, Saints and Liverpool in that order. No Sturridge remember? (maybe you forgot that small item!).

Aspas is just back from injury but I agree.

Borini is out on loan as he was behind those three and needed games. Hindsights a wonderful thing.

    He did use Alberto yesterday

Yeah, putting fragile ALLEN into that inept bunch would have been a great idea Tobes. Then the haters could have ignored the pile of ****e the rest of the team was and blamed the favourite scapegoat!

He's talking about his squad being thin in quality. Which you of all people have reminded us time after time is true. He didn't get the true quality players he wanted in the summer did he? Does that mean he has to be smarter with the money from now on? I believe yes.

That squad depth you pointed to is exactly that; younger squad players replacing old or even more useless squad players.

If we want top four we have to buy better than we have now. And he's been saying that since October Tobes so he hasn't reverted to anything......

That's not shifting the blame for yesterday away from him by the way, it's just a separate point that also needs addressing. It's not one dimensional you know.....

Haven't learnt that what you'd like to see doesn't mean the same as Most likely I see which makes it ironic when you point it out to others lol

    More pointless utterances from you.

SAS and Mignolet have carried us all season. Yesterday was proof of that.

It goes to show that don't have a system/style in place - the philosophy is supposed to remain the same regardless of who goes out and comes in. At the moment, we've abandoned that to accommodate certain players.

With time, Rodgers will bring in more players which fit this. Until, we must continue on relying on SAS.

    Pretty much this <ok>

I've seen a few people bigging up Skrtel but he was poor. Lost his man during set pieces 2-3 times!

No consistency in defence isn't helping either - Johnson and Enrique are always injured and Rodgers just fancies rotating his CB's for the fun of it.
