Hoofball will reign! May the lord have mercy on our souls and our tradition of being a club where the supporters and fans want to see football with some style.

I can't understand this obsession with us employing ex Nottingham Forest failures, SOD, Burt, Pemberton, various players and now seemingly Cotterill, why don't we go out and get somebody fresh, proven and young, instead of used up has beens, our board is going to cock it all up again...

Obviously Paul Tisdale is would be my choice...

What a joke, sorry guys this club is run by a bunch of clowns if this appointment happens-

Another failure to run our club further into the ground-

Sod went to the rescue as the guy could not sort Forest, now we have the man that Sod replaced.<yikes>

Bad bad decision once again by the board.

As with all managers, I'll give him a chance, even though I may not like the appointment.

Too many people are comparing his failure to get Forest out of the Championship with his ability in L1!! They are not the same comparison people ffs. His record in L1 & L2 is pretty good, he would not be my ideal appointment, however we have to be realistic we are not a big draw right now, so unlikely to attract any big fish. The guy is local so settling should not be an issue, we have to give him a chance, anything has to be better than SOD

Or SOD's pedestrian 1 MPH football that isn't suited to this division either

You need to be physically and mentally strong as a club and as individuals to get out of this league

No we don't. We are on course to get out of it in a downward direction and it is proving very easy to achieve!

**** sake at least give the guy a chance <doh> I agree that he isn't the choice we wanted but look at previous managers weve wanted in. Coppell = Copout McInnes = ****ing terrible SOD = worst manager ive seen!

So lets just give Cotterill a chance. Me personally I think he will steady the ship, get us out of danger and up to mid table. Would rather have him than Holloway!

well said shiny, as I have said on another thread I feel punch drunk after the last few years and at the moment will just be happy for the club to stop its drift downwards. It doesnt seem that long ago we were all so excited by the championship playoff game. SC if appointed would not be my choice but he will get my support and I will give him every chance. If he demonstrates focus, determination to succeed and passion that will be a good start.

He is not even a "has been". He is a "never was" manager.
I really do fear that we are now staring in the face, the extinction as a football club of Bristol City FC.
Anyone want to buy £80 of shares and a Senior person season ticket?

Tbh I'm all out of emotions now; fury over GJs departure, elation followed closely by amazement over Coppouts brief fling, disappointment around Millen episode, curiosity followed by disappointment (and a little pity) over Delboy, excitement then misery over SODs appointment (I really did think he would turn us around), now Cotterel (maybe) - I just haven't got the emotional energy to care any more.
Hoof ball, or tippy-tappy 'pretty football' style - yeah whatever. Just stop the slide NOW FFS.

You think by appointing steve cotterill that the club will go extinct <doh> slight overreaction. We just need to stop this slide, SC ugly football might be the way to do it.
