Well this is concerning , the Swansea Stadium Management Company is close to collapse according to this report

So the clubs pay their rent to SSMC and yet no payment is made to the Council, where has all this money gone to?

So we have put additional funds into the pot , but that is not enough apparently!

You got to ask who are the people on the board of SSMC, and where is the money going? If this is not a reason to buy the stadium from the council so that losses can be curtailed nothing is, we stay up next season and I think that its got to be considered!

I thought that board was made up of representatives from the Swans the Ospreys, and Swansea city council, or am I mixing up with something else?

No you are not phil , who exactly are these people I want to know, why are they making losses? How has no money been paid to the council? I am a swans fan, but also a tax payer, I want to know why this is being allowed to continue ? 6 years and no payment, plus a loan for millions that has been written off!

The council should be served with freedom of information request in regards to this, they are a public body, we deserve answers !

Posted the above before reading your link to the EP article, and yes I'm correct, the two clubs and Swansea city council are the Swansea Stadium Management Company, so if the council are not getting the money then the clubs are pocketing it, or someone is going to retire to the South of France, with the proceeds!! this needs looking into because it is a disgrace if true, there is no reason that Swansea city council should not be getting payment, and why did they have to give the clubs 2.5 Million only to write it off! For crying out loud the overheads are being shared, plus the Stadium is hosting Music concerts, I think that this needs some serious looking into, and some questions asked of SSMC, who are the directors, company house should tell us??............

    The report is unfortunately,somewhat outdated.
The original requirement was to be reviewed in 2009-after first four years of the stadiums life re the fund.
Repairs and maintenance costs have been paid on the basis of when required which I believe has come from Stadium management and council funds.
The 2.5m seems to be a quoted figure with no specific expalanation as to it's purpose and in fairness all 'quotes' in the article aren't dated and make reference to the 'first four years' of the stadiums life(2009)
A column filler maybe with no apparrant substance

No idea what is going on , but its not pretty reading, and directors of our club are in there doing whatever the hell they are doing, but as there are director of the council in there as well who happens to be a liberal democrat councillor, questions must be asked

288a 20/10/2008 DIRECTOR APPOINTED JOHN NEWBURY

Nope I disagree as other articles dated 2008/09/10 are freely available on the net, and on the council website, this is current not something from 3 years ago

isn't this current article simply a re-hash of earlier items?
I appreciate that there appear to be issues/arguements as to with who responsibility lies to pay for certain maintenance/repairs but the figures being quoted change on a regular basis-£27m to build/fund the stadium seems now to have been raised to £44m
The make-up of the management agreement was always going to lead to problems-stadium/council/ospreys/swans-another committee who have differing loyalties and pass blame
If there are serious issues with financial sustainability then Swansea council members need to call a public enquiry/meeting to address the matter but i can't see that happening any time soon
