Thanks for the caramel latte Ak, I have been suffering backache for a while now, when I went to diabetes clinic they told me I have to have another blood test because it looks as if my kidneys are shutting down
Thanks BB, I don't suppose they'll waste a transplant on someone of my age, so it looks like 3 times a week dialysis at the local!
dave - really sorry to hear about your health buddy - here's hoping that it isn't as bad as it appears - all the best with it FF
Really sorry to hear that Dave. I hope that if you do have to go down that road you will have a decent internet connection to while the time away. Let's hope it doesn't come to that. Fingers crossed smiley required.
Thanks fellas, I have blood test on Thursday, I'm hoping that when I had the original test I was just starting to feel really ill, so my hope is the flu caused a bit of dehydration giving a false reading! The downside is kidney problems are common amongst diabetics and I was first diagnosed 18 - 19 years ago so it wouldn't be unusual!
Bad news Canary-Dave. I hope something good happens for you soon. I though this could be interesting for you all http://grapevine.is/Home/ReadArticle/Icelandic-Extinct-After-100-Years all to do with computer operation and voice control.
Wow, that would be sad, we all like to keep our links to the past no matter how far forward we may progress!
Afternoon all, had a tax exam this morning and I think I've done quite well but failed. I know that's contradicting myself, but I was having a problem reading the question paper (I'm due an eye test later this month) as the wording seemed blurred, so I had to wait until it was fully in focus before I could read it properly. When it's a 2 hour paper, you don't really have that sort of time to waste. Naturally, I didn't complete the paper but I feel what I did manage to do I did well.
All best Dave.... I have just had a review this morning.... hypertensive medication increased.... and another attempt to reduce my blood sugar readings to be reviewed in three months before considering upping meds.
You lads on here are too kind! I've been round town today getting bits and bobs for Christmas, I would guess I've walked about 5 miles all told which is excellent exercise, but by the time I got home, both hips felt as if they were about to lock! There's not much fun growing old, no wonder we old codgers are always grumpy!
Speak for yourself. Stuck indoors all afternoon waiting for a call from UK. Why don't people do what they say they will.
I thought being grumpy was actually good fun to be honest. Here's hoping the news is good for you Dave. On the subject of being old, I went to see Roddy Frame last night - the gig was celebrating the 30th anniversary of the release of High Land Hard Rain. That made me feel absolutely ancient although I was probably one of the youngest audience members .
