    An interesting question.

When he bought the club off Bartlett, he paid £1 for the share capital. Together with that he agreed to cover liabilities amounting to around £30m (when he initially got involved in buying the club he estimated those liabilities as around £10m. Does he deserve back the extra £20m due to a lack of due diligence?).

Since that point he has had complete autonomy over the running over the club (nearly 3 years now to put his stamp on it).

He said at the time of buying the club that he could have let it go into administration and bought it for pence in the pound. He decided to pay above worth because he knew what the club meant to the people of the CITY of Hull (whether this comes down to 10 point penalties or retaining the entity can be debated).

I seem to recall at the time of buying the club, he made some spiel about the premier league exposure in 2008-2010 helping Allam Marine generate huge increases in revenue (how much is open to debate but when he first bought the club it appeared that premier league football was the goal for the extra exposure it gave the area and Allam Marine, that was my interpretation of why he bought the club anyway).

Having run the club for 3 years, that £30m guarantee has risen to £50m+ and now sits at £66m+. Surely 3 years is sufficient time to make the club profitable (and yet the debt keeps rising)?!?

So there is no money left and the club needs to pay its way? Blackpool and Burnley appeared to manage it (sure they're both back in the Championship but they made a profit during their time in the top division).

The club is back in the premier league (how much intangible benefit is there to Allam Marine as a result of that?) and, if he wanted to sell, now would be the best time for him to do so.

    1. Who wants to buy a loss-making entity if it has no grounds to make future profits, and at a premium?
    2. If he sends the club to the wall then why did he spend tens of millions more than necessary to give it a three year stay of execution?
    3. If he sends the club to the wall then how does he think the people of the city will feel knowing that he was the one responsible for it? Will there be a knock-on effect for his other businesses (by which I mean being run out of town) from those disillusioned by all his big promises?
    4. If he extracts whatever he can by means of a firesale / asset strip then:
4a) Who will want to buy the shell of the club?
4b) What impact will league 2 Hull City have on Allam Marine?

    Thanks for this.

I think it's important that we all know the rules as set by the esteemed poster Duffen's Briefs, so we know exactly what we can and cannot say.

Let's hope, Ben, that he comes back to us in good time with full details so we all know how to behave and think.

    Thank God for Duffen's Briefs.

Everyone's entitled to their views bro. Those are mine. If that doesn't support your opinion then so be it. It is getting silly now and the chances of the club imploding are greater than ever before. And this on the day we beat those plastic Scouse. FFS

Good to read support for our cause on this thread from discerning fans from other clubs.

As are these comments from Cardiff:

    http://www.cardiffcityforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=128310

Our cause is already being held up by others as an example.

If this name change can be halted, we will be the beacon.

Why would we be back in League 1? We are Hull City now and we are in the Premier League and if we stay Hull City we won't suddenly get relegated a couple of times. If Allam sells he will sell to somebody who has money. We seem a very attractive prospect for any buyer right now.

if he is charging interest on the money that he ploughed into the club, I don't think he will sell up.
He is all about making money and selling your golden goose isn't a smart business move.

I'm not going to home games while he's in charge either. You might think it's ok to try and throw away 109 years of history and then say he hopes fans who have attended long before he ever even heard of Hull City go and die, but I'm funny like that.....

Yesterday showed to Assem Allam that his money has built a very good team with a very manager. With a strengthened attack, or a lucky bounce for Graham, we have a good chance of staying up.

Why would he sell up, give up his tax advantages and possibly write off a substantial amount of his loans just because he cannot change Hull City to Hull Tigers?

Do you really believe he is that stubborn to be that foolish? If you do, do you think he should be running our football club?

If he made an announcement saying I've done my research there is no financial benefit from a change of name. I recognise the importance the name has to many fans so I've decided we'll remain Hull City. We have shown what we can achieve, January's coming lets get out and raise some money to buy another striker. Together we can make Hull City a force to be reckoned with, what would the reaction be?

How many people would start a campaign to be called Hull Tigers?

    You've got a short memory!

If Steve Bruce says he may have to intervene, that MAY be the best chance of a cease fire. But equally I can easily see AA telling SB he won't change and there wont be any more money in January. If I were Steve Bruce in that situation, I would seriously have to consider my position at the club because I would feel the tools I need to do my job were being denied me and that I wouldn't want my CV damaging further.

In my view that meeting is now pivotal.

I suspect that Brucey is saying this now, as he's getting concerned that recruitment may be impaired in January, as a consequence of all this nonsense.

My memory is quite long. We are short of money and Assem Allam wants European football. If he wants a successful team more than a name he'll listen to Steve Bruce. If he wants to be the first man to have a team promoted to the Premier League under one name and relegated under another he won't.

We have made our voices heard in public, Steve Bruce will do it in private.

I have always hoped that Assem Allam will eventually put building an established Premier League team above our name. Whether he will or not is up to him.
